That is the question you need to answer. I say it is not. I also say that you already have a civil war going on and the vistims are kids at school, and people just going about their jon or worship or entertainment.

If you brought Czech laws to the US would they suddenly have less gun homicides than Britain? If you brought US laws to the Czechs would they suddenly have the US death toll?

Clearly there is a third causal link.

No, they can take them to the great southern land...of the gun.

Nothing comes between a trigger finger and his weapon of choice...so migrating south should be a no brainer..

That is a good idea. No one has his 2A rights infringed and the school kids are safe. Except for that one state.

I am not sure of your point...but maybe the Czech's don't have a belief that mass civilian slaughter by gun is a culltural thing they must meekly accept and not change.

    Ummmmm ..... probably not.

Yes, and that link is social equality, socialist democracy. Or a lack thereof. Jobs, decent income, affordable housing, i.e. quality of life. If your country doesn't have those things you're in trouble - and if you have an abundance of firearms in the equation = "pang-pang" U.S.A.

Feel free to turn your guns in and become a slave if you want. I won't be joining you.

Approximately 12,000 gun homicides per year in a country of 320 million people. To put that in perspective, about 30,000 Americans die each year from accidental falls. Naturally, each death is a tragedy in its own right, but viewed in a larger context, it's a gun homicide rate of around 0.003%.

Yeah, only the military and the police should have guns, like in North Korea.

Far less than the number of children who die in car accidents or from poisoning themselves. Yet I don't see anyone demanding that we give up cars or dangerous chemicals.

Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont have almost no gun control, yet their violent gun crime rates are comparable to countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, etc.

Guns are not the problem. Sociological factors like poverty and mental illness are the problem. Maybe, instead of trying to violate the rights of millions of peaceful, law-abiding Americans, the gun control crowd should consider addressing the root causes of gun violence. That way, they might actually solve the problem they claim to care so much about.

Is dying accidentally somehow less tragic or permanent than dying non-accidentally?

Guns can also be used to protect human life and ensure human freedom. Maybe if you convince all the criminals and governments in the world to give up their guns, then I'll consider giving up mine.

My guns are a threat to nobody but criminals and tyrants. Naturally, such characters would like to see me and every other decent American disarmed. The question becomes: Why are you so eager to do their work for them?

Sorry I don't follow you, do you think the sports and leisure industry should be confined to squaddies and coppers? I thought it was all inclusive in your country and that everyone had the right to partake in the activity?
Why the reference to North Korea, do they not have such a developed sports and leisure sector as the USA?

Okay......I'll go with that, but it is far easier to take the guns away from the bergs of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermony as they likely will not care less...and from the rest of the USA even if they are kicking and screaming.

Tell that to the school kids, the people at work, the people at worship, at entertainment venues...who were slaughtered by guns NOT there to protect them.

    Exactly.

The overwhelming majority of gun violence in the US is localized almost entirely within a few large cities controlled by Democrats: Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, St. Louis, Washington DC, etc., all of which have strict gun control laws in place. Meanwhile, thirty minutes outside of Chicago in the suburbs, gun violence is virtually nonexistent.
