CA: Conservative student group denied official recognition, called ‘unsafe’ for minorities

Trump does not represent conservative views.
Also, just like not all liberals agree on exactly everything, not all conservatives agree on everything as well.

 

As I age my tolerance towards young, inexperienced, extremely loud fools, who are concerned mostly with identity politics and call everyone who disagrees with them a racist or a homophobe, is getting lower by the year.

 

I think all Americans [other than the bible-belt types] agree that the Republican in the White House is a menace. To speak favorably of Trump on college campuses is unforgivable and why young Republican groups are either outlawed or strongly discouraged at universities.

 

Yes, mine too. Such emotional ideologues do not belong on the Left. They really should be in religious cults or similar. Politics - a pragmatic business - should remain in the hands of the pragmatists. We can never hope to feed the hungry and heal the planet as long as privileged First Worlders focus resources on the grotesquely trivial. I regard them as small berserker Kings, of the medieval variety. Locked up in their castles, and without benchmark for the reality of life lived by 90% of humanity outside their walls.

 

So liberal! So tolerant! So diverse!

Conservatives are not Nazis, they have the right to speak their minds, regardless of how much you hate current president.

 

Who can tolerate a lying pathologic fool? Do you tolerate such monsters in your own life? Republicans are held responsible for Trump and why they don't do well where higher education is taught.

 

Sorry but you want some sense of respect in a nation that abhors who you put in charge. Republicans will live with the disgrace/ shame of Trump for a very long time and college campuses are correct in censoring such madness.

 

He is someone who managed to become the POTUS. That’s alone deserves respect, even if you completely disagree with everything he says.
Others have the absolute right to express their views as well. You denying others rights to express their views are no different then those who didn’t want blacks to desegregate.
Tolerance means being tolerant to everyone, not just those who share same views with yours.

I don't seek to silence or censor those I disagree with. We fought long and hard against that kind of social conservatism (and yes, that's EXACTLY what this is, social conservatism) last century. You may no longer care about freedoms and tolerance, but I do.

 

Republicans want toleration when they deserve ridicule. To even expect respect for Trump is like advocating for some of the world's worst dictators. The mayor of London had it right when referring to Trump as a "global threat". Americans are mortified and vow to never elect another Republican as president.

 

Getting a little hot under the collar? The deed is done. For you to even expect any tribute to your leader speaks volumes about you. We don't elect Republicans in California and college campuses remain overtly hostile. So you can resent that or maybe look inside to examine how distorted your attitude may be.

I hope some day you grow up to see how wrong your views are. Conservatism is not just about Trump and views like yours will fuel even more support towards him. In fact, I don’t like trump and I blame extreme left for him getting elected.

When confronted blame it on intolerance. A perfectly mindless exercise that many Republicans practice. I like Meghan McCain on "The View" but when she complains that New Yorkers call her names on the street she is underestimating the level of contempt toward anything related to Trump's party . History will not be kind [can one imagine all those lies documented?] so I am just suggesting you consider humble pie rather than victimhood.

 

I cannot grasp why it appears Republicans cannot, or will not, face the fact Trump could easily bury their party for decades.

 

no school is required to let someone speak at their school, especially if they think it will be unsafe for some of the student body

the other case was cause they threatened a business that was the victim of an alleged shoplifting to get them to drop charges - not even close to the same thing

guess what, when republicans control Congress they pick who speaks and what bills are voted on and visa versa too

Eh. that's a bit of a stretch. Lots of claims were made, and discarded at the end of a gun. But nothing says that the guy it was taken from, didn't take it from someone else first. NA First Nations tribes warred with each other and took land and the like, just as much as the settlers did.
