To me it seems like Cain was getting very popular and someone got very worried.

 

And it seems the story is falling apart and Margot refuses to address the fallacies that have been pointed out in her statements.

 

I like Cain a lot, but I do wonder if he is up to the job. I think he and Gingrich make a very appealing team, but who would be on top?

I would be surprised if the Obama administration was behind it. It would make more sense to save that information for either the primaries if Cain gets too far ahead to lengthen the primary fight, or if Cain is the nominee, to spring it out a few weeks before the election.

At this point, releasing the information now would only help the other Republican nominees.

 

One of the women....the last one.....also filed a legal complaint about her next employer. The public understands women like this. They realize the kind of person they are. Willing to use the slighest of things to file a lawsuit to get some easy money. In her subsequent job, she tried to sue her employer to allow her to work from home after a car accident.

From what I've seen, these women are troublemakers. Even their past co-workers have said so.

 

True, Herman Cain should not be sued in any of these regards, however the involvement of Gloria Allred is a lot suspect. She has a track record of winning some high profile, big ticket settlements not the least of which was $8 million for Tiger William's squeeze...

The "women's perspective" had closure 15 years ago by their own actions, when they accepted settlement money - presumably for employment termination as all left the organization or, in the latest case, chose not to say anything.

It was a long time ago, memories fade. There would be no point in holding an inquiry of any kind other than to drag out the potential embarrassment to the candidate.

Their claims are highly, highly suspect coming not only decades afterward, but as Cain moves solidly into the front of the pack. If they were so freaking concerned about other women how come their silence was bought for, what?, $35K

And how come these allegations only arise from his days at the NRA......He's had a longer career elsewhere, if he was a serial pervert we'd be hearing about it, like "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton.

I was of the same opinion until I thought it through. It would make less sense for the Romney camp to use it now, which would be the alternative....and it would be destructive if the source was discovered.

In the Dems case, they lose nothing by letting it be known they were the source. True, the timing seems odd, but then we don't know what they do, what else they have on him, or where they see the primary going. Personally, I think they want Romney as their opponent, hope for the best with Perry, but are frightened by Cain.

Cain managed a company. Sure, that's nothing like a country, but it's a hell of a lot more then Obama's ever managed. As for Newt, he's too old to be President. VP is more like it.

No...the left doesn't want Cain to get the nomination. They know he would slaughter obama in a debate. They also know Newt would do the same thing. Romney would probably do ok, but not as good. Everyone knows Perry is not a debater, he's even admitted that. The left would love it if Perry got the nomination. I'd love to see Newt and Cain running...i can just imagine a debate between either one of them and Biden! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
