FEMA is now Trumps biatch....good luck California.

"A(*)high ranking unnamed source, who spoke with the Dispatch on the condition of anonymity, has confirmed that President Trump has denied the request on grounds that California, and the city of Sacramento in particular, have failed to enforce federal immigration laws and have threatened to succeed from the Union. (*)The source is quoted as saying:
“The President has no incentive in helping the state of California. (*)The state harbors more illegal immigrants than any other state and has multiple sanctuary cities that violate(*)federal laws. (*) The state very publicly supported Hillary Clinton throughout the election and the President views the state as being responsible for his loss in the popular vote, something he has had trouble with accepting. (*)They have also recently threatened to leave the Union through their #CalExit campaign, and the President sees this as an opportunity to let them deal with the consequences of their exit. (*)There is a sickness within the liberals in this country that they are not willing to address. (*)Until they understand what ails them can they hope to find the cure. (*)This is a step in the right direction in finding the #CureForWellness.(*)“

Deadly silence on the dam-disaster by TwitterTrump... Instead, he is more worried that 'FAKE media are ignoring big crowds of enthusiastic supporters lining the road'.

    https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/830904083519242241

Yes, the Great Leader is displeased of being deprived of another fifteen minutes of fame. Someone's head will roll, no doubt, and the rest of the country can drown, as far as he is concerned.

This piece is not even satire, this the real attitude, of a real adult (you'd think), being really the President of the United states of America.

a ''President'' who doesn't give a s**t about California or the rest of the States. (Or the world, for that matter.)

Trumps silent arrogance in this matter is SICKENING.

    Yes.

    Hit them when it hurts.

They need a wake up call and this dam break will do.

Word is Bush "did it" just like he "did Katrina".

Although I also heard that it was the result of global racism warming so I'm not sure which report to believe.

But I think its safe to say that financial mismanagement and government incompetence combined with the need to provide water to 30 million illegal immigrants has nothing to do with it.

What disaster? There has been no disaster?
The thirty foot wall of water never happened. The dam didn't break. The spillway didn't break apart. It could, but it hasn't.

There's nothing for Trump to comment on at this moment. Nothing has happened.

If a disaster occurs then Trump should help, but he shouldn't give them everything they ask for and what he does give should come with conditions.

Yes, not at all like Obama's aqueous relief from Federal supplies to California.
It is disgusting that orchards should die for lack of Federal water. Yes it is!

California also has zero lot lines. However in general, codes call for a 5 feet space from fence to home giving two homes a space of 10 feet. This means in general one or both sides of the home are of little use.

Some of our nicest homes have a minimum lot of 1/4 acre.

Let me show you a home built in the 1960s to give you an idea. It has roughly 2200 sq feet to 2250 I believe.

    Sold in 2014 for $1,045,000

The main problem with the Oroville Dam is a poorly designed and constructed spillway system from the day it was built in 1968.

The main spillway looks like it has been built using lined-canal engineering - with foundations sitting on the sloped ground underneath being subject to erosion and landslide. So it looks like the spillway has failed in exactly the way a road would fail where a sinkhole has opened up underneath it.

The main spillway design should have followed aqueduct engineering practice - as strong as a bridge with deeply driven pile foundations.

The spillway design job can be made easier with appropriate choice of route for the spillway - helpful are gentle slopes and bedrock conveniently close to the surface. Looks like they took the shortest, cheapest route.

Oroville Dam crisis. Should we risk new big dam projects?

Well, for the first I hope so also. Especially since I am back inside of it.

I spent a night in the Orland shelter, and the next day checked into the Chico shelter. My wife had gone home to get some supplies (she stayed uphill at the Indian Casino) when she called me to say her and a neighbor had chased away 2 groups of looters. So I drove around the barricades and went home myself. Now I am doing random armed patrols in my neighborhood.

And as far as I am concerned, the California Government can all go straight to hell. Yea, Governor Moonbeam is asking for Federal Assistance.

Meanwhile he has yet to send out his own National Guard to help with this situation!

In other words, he wants to spend everybody's money but his own.

We have had looting in the area since Sunday Night. And the local NG MP unit in Chico (20 miles away) is ready to deploy to patrol the areas. They are simply sitting in the armory doing nothing. Called up but not put into action.

They can be patrolling the evacuation centers, the streets to stop the looting. Chico also has an engineer unit, yet they are using contractors to work on the emergency repairs.

WTF is wrong here. I live in Oroville, and see absolutely no involvement from the state. To a problem caused by the state. Yet they are asking for money.

I've been watching this in the news. I hope everyone can stay safe and the water situation gets under control. The dam is fine, the spillways-not so much. St. Ronny Reagan presided at the opening of this dam back in the 60's, it was & is truly a marvel. Hopefully the rain will stay away......

moon beam wants to waste close to 100 billion dollars on a slow speed train that few would ever use..if the used the money for just one mile of this stupid project the dam could have been fixed long ago when then knew they had a problem...

    Take care.

Help me here, didn't I read years ago that this dam had issues and that it was kept at a reduced level to keep the structural stress down? Am I remembering correctly, Google is no help.

    Cheers

I'm near by. Gotta say, 188,000 people still evacuated. Everyone around has been effected. The dam could still fail. Big storm due Thursday.

Heads are gunna roll for this....

Nope, those were other dams further south.

But the DRW ordered Oroville to remain as close to max capacity as possible as part of their drought relief efforts.

Yes, every dam in the state has been kept at near capacity to help end the drought, even though we will have record snowfall melting in a few months and there are more storms coming (the next hits this Thursday).

That is how retarded this state is.

Meanwhile they are spending money on sanctuary state policies for illegals. But will not call out their own National Guard to help in a real disaster.

I hope so. I worked for years as an aerial photographer, natural desasters were the norm for insurance co clients. It's amazing the speed that moving water can erode earthen dams and levies. Scary stuff. One minute there's a thousand feet of earth from the rushing flood then, gone.

    Cheers

    Nope.

Because the Governor is in his 4th (and last) term, so he has nothing to worry about. Besides, he is a Democrat.

Watch any local news, and they are saying nothing on how badly the State Government has fracked this whole thing up. I live in Oroville, we have had looting here for days, but you do not hear about it on the news, the reporters are all covering the refugee camps. They talk about the great job the Red Cross is doing, nobody questions where the National Guard is.

And everybody acts like the state is doing such a great job. But the state is Democrat controlled, Executive and Legislative both. I am surprised I have not heard any screams yet that this is all Trump's fault.

The DWR is ordering dams to remain at capacity.

This weekend the Federal Government ordered Shasta to start releasing water to it's fastest safe outflow. The State DWR wanted to keep it at maximum capacity, and the Feds told them "No way".

And we already have fake news sites screaming that Trump will not help because of the Sanctuary State policy.
