apacheRAT must have his daily catharsis similar to his daily laxative. He like nearly all the California Republican posters on PF have no intention moving out of the Golden State. Where will apacheRat go?

Rising oceans will mean far worse consequences to the flat/ mountainless Gulf Coast/ Eastern Seaboard.

Wherever he goes he will be watching the destruction of California, one of the great legacies of the progressive movement.

BINGO, apacheRAT posts these provocative discussions almost every day. Mostly 'tongue in cheek', he is trolling.

I didn't hear anyone say California was never great, or that it wasn't a state blessed with a multitude of natural beauty and resources. The situation is what the current care-takers of California are doing to all those natural assets...... and the very people who brought it to be so productive, many of whom are now gone or looking for ways to get the hell out of hell.

It's not the state; it's the people running it. A rose garden becomes a stinking latrine if you crap on it long enough, and tell yourself you are just "fertilizing".it.

Depending on what part of California you are in at the moment, holding your breath can be a virtual necessity.

Well if you're a sportsman like I am California doesn't offer much. Sure you can go fishing but unless your on a boat "IN THE OCEAN" you will standing next to 20 other people "Most none English speaking" while 100's of idiots rip around on atv's and another 100 churn the lake like a hand mixer :) Most beach's are packed with idiots, and their wild ass children jumping over you while laying four feet from another person and there is never any peace and quiet..

In my home town "With four local lakes" you have to take a number and wait for a spot on the lake, and sometimes all you do is tailgate the entire day or drag your boat lil over an hour "depending on traffic" to San Luis reservoir where you can enjoy the real company of drunken Latino's and wade thru modelo cans/bottles while listening to LOUD mariachi music and drunks yelling and singing all day and night!

And this in no exaggeration either.. Just a lil something these other posters don't talk about, they want you to think you are all alone in California when you are never ALONE in California..

apacheRAT should follow the example of several Orange county politicians and just switch to the Democratic party and win elections. Old school Republicans in California are almost all Democrats now. Just the thought of Trump makes them violently ill.

Actually your summary, though exaggerated, is fairly accurate. San Luis ain't Tahoe, that is for sure.

My summary if anything is MILD ;) Your average Californian doesn't drive to Tahoe every weekend, that would again "Depending on traffic" be a 3-4 hour drive.. Even then Tahoe in the summer is packed from all the people from Sacramento looking to get out of the city..

Hey, my early childhood memory was swimming/ inner tube riding between the Five and One Mile dam in Chico [Bidwell park]. Huge sycamore & oak trees providing shade against the intense heat. Water sports are mostly on the ocean down here.

You would be right, if it wasn't for those damn geologic fault lines and the earth-quake triggered tsunami's that will eventually purify California's coastal areas; no doubt wash off the fecal matter that the cities can't seem to control. New geologic data has shown the danger for the coastal areas from San Diego to San Francisco is much greater than previously thought. The tsunami inundation maps show that the waters would not reach Sacramento, however earthquakes will still occur there- and substantial flooding is on the list for that city. If mother nature decides it's had enough and decides to wash the dirt away, it will probably go to the source as well.

California has almost 16,000 fault lines, and more than 500 of them are active today... Mother Nature is coming, and boy is she pissed.

Tsunamis can happen in any ocean. Seismic activity is unchanged and has nothing to do with global warming. And how many earthquakes happen in Oklahoma? A lot.

Back when California was the Golden State California was a sportsman paradise. Not so much today.

Liberals put environmentalist and squirrel huggers in charge of fish and game and our open lands.

Environmentalist rarely ever getting it right and the mismanagement of California's land, California is no longer a sportsman paradise.

First they outlawed mountain lion hunting and the mountain lions went on a big sex orgery and muliplied and ate most of the bighorn sheep in California then they went after the deer and now they are attacking people.

The environmentalist stopped maintaining firebreaks and fire truck trails and roads and when there is a wildfire they can't get into the area of the fire to control the fire.

They outlawed lead bullets on state land and being low information they were unaware that steel bullets are furious not non furious and steel bullets spark when it hits dirt, rocks or anything with iron in it.
PC steel bullets cause wildfires !

The federal government will throw your butt in jail if you use steel bullets on federal land (national forest, BLM land)
Politically correct steel bullets cause wildfires !!!

I remember back when California was great as a child we use to cagtch yellow tail on the Redondo Beach breakwater. Not any more.

$49 for a freaking California fishing license !!!
$49 for a freaking California hunting licence !

Starting next Monday (July 1st) paying $50 for a background check to purchase a $5 box of .22 rimfire ammunition !

California's rivers and streams use to be full of trout and salmon. Not any more.

The real problem is just not liberal policies but the over population of California and the Democrats in Sacramento still have the welcome mat out at the border.

There use to be enough fish and wild game for everyone in California but not for 40 million people.

Democrats have followed in the footsteps of Reagan, putting environmental concerns before business profits. The issue of preserving the state has almost always been bipartisan.

    Damn that made laugh
But they did the did the same thing here with the wolves "Liberal in Washington" and now they are out of control and eating the slow elk/cows and the sheep.. The cougars are hunted so they are kept in check and the bighorn live where no man or beast goes unless their crazy! Usually a California thing along with Antelope, don't ask me why?
Same here unless you stock up at a gun show, I do.. Never a background unless its a weapon never ammo

Your problem is you are a beach kid with little understanding of agriculture/ beef production. Cattle ranches in the San Joaquin valley pollute the air.
