I am refering to my home speed, if I buy 100 down, and the network connection between us is good enough, it should not be artificially slowed down by my isp

yes, when there are multiple users, we will all be slowed down if all using up all the bandwidth, as only so much water through a pipe, again, we are not talking about that, we are talking about purposefully slowing down competing sites

and of course if you go over your cap, which many isp's have, mine it two terabytes, they can slow you down too

This is a very real fear among many after net neutrality was killed and I'll be honest I don't think their fears are unfounded. I've yet to hear of something like this happening but it wouldn't surprise me to see ISPs in deals with content providers to push users onto specific domains. Companies HAVE been caught doing things like this in the past.

Wasn't it Apple that got busted for purposefully slowing down their older iPhones via updates in order to push folks into purchasing newer models?

I've yet to see it therefore I have no basis for this, but it seriously wouldn't surprise me if someone like Comcast makes a deal with Hulu or something to where users internet speed is throttled while streaming Netflix.

I don’t pay for TV, so no...
I think it is absurd what they charge though.

Where did I whine about paying for internet? I wish I had another choice than the single one that I have but is making a statement now whining?

Do you have to be insulting in every single post you make?
Ones you are passionate about are understandable but you seem to do it each and every time which indicates a larger character flaw.

Just like newspapers. Go figure. You expect people to work for free?

Access to content that someone else owns.
Why do you think you should be able to access it for free?

    this was happening in 2014

"Netflix to pay Comcast for faster speeds"

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...mcast-for-faster-speeds-idUSBREA1M0X520140223

not sure if it has started again sense net neutrality killed yet

"(Reuters) - Netflix has agreed to pay one of the largest broadband providers in the United States Comcast Corp for faster speeds, throwing open the possibility that more content companies will have to shell out for better service."

my guess is ISP's may not, in fear that the next dem run Congress and President would put it right back in place if they did try it again - we can only hope, but only time will tell
