Well, the alternative is thinking that you approve of infanticide and slavery, so . . .

Sorry, but either you approve of infanticide and slavery or you don't. If you approve of it sometimes, or at any time, you are still approving of it. And again, I choose to think better of you than that. Deep down, I'm sure you are intelligent and reflective enough to know that infanticide and slavery are wrong, no matter what your religion has tried to brainwash you to believe.

As you say we don't have to agree. At least we shouldn't have to agree, but these days if you don't agree with whatever the LGBTQXYZ activists are saying/demanding you are accused of hatred. Those who accuse people of hatred for disagreeing are the real haters imo.

Why do you believe humility is a virtue?

Public colleges and universities are not held to any standard regarding diversity of ideas being freely expressed.

He can't change the bible but he can change Cannon Law.

Why does it matter to you? It's just a stupid church. Are you Catholic?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that. Just that if an opinion is suppressed or outright banned - such as opposition to gay marriage - the school should lose Federal funding. It's not like a school should require people to think a certain way.

The fine line is usually where an opinion becomes hate speech. To many students of today, saying that you are against gay marriage would be considered hate speech.

That's the problem. Anything they disagree with they call hate speech.

Hope you don’t eat shellfish, that’s an abomination. And I’m certainly sure you wouldn’t dream of shopping on the Sabbath

Because you don't give a **** about gays, then you appear to be as unloving and as uncompassionate as Jesus and most Christians are (they still give their children a book that says to kill gays and that gays won't get to heaven.) But I think you're better than they are, so try to find it in your heart to actually CARE about gays - I believe in you.

Apparently previous Popes decided that we can eat shellfish. But that is a far cry from homosexuality. Homosexuality is seen as a threat to God's intended plan. Shellfish, not so much.

When I was a good Catholic, no, I wouldn't do anything like shopping on the Sabbath.

Common decency, and what's best for humanity, that's what. This isn't rocket science. Common decency and what's best for humanity says that you don't burn alive people who are not hurting you!! Gays are not hurting them, but they give their children a book (Bible) that says that the hero (Jesus/god) will see that gays will be burned alive in the lake of fire - even ETHICAL gays....obviously not ethical by any reasonable standard.

Bragging like Trump does, boasting, as such, seems rather innapropriate.

That's because he's an intellectual coward - a follower, not a leader, an immoral person.

I care too much about humanity to be a Catholic. I'm also not gullible enough to think that a cracker literally turns into some dead guy's flesh (or wine/blood.)

Yes, if the book is so incredibly stupid to have those incredibly stupid rules, then why on earth would sane people TRUST THE JUDGEMENT of that same book in any way, shape, or form!?

The left? Do you mean those rather fascistic wackos known as #antifa?

Given Catholic attitudes towards homosexuality, I'm not surprised if such an exhibit got canceled at one of their universities, at least in the US. We remain a religiously fundamentalist country, especially in a state like Kansas.

Certainly the antifa wack jobs but also a lot of run of the mill students, especially female students. I've met many girls recently in the 18-24 range who feel it is their personal duty to advocate for LGBT rights, and that anyone who doesn't agree with what they say is a bigot. I encountered these ideas many times, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has.

I am not a religious person, but I think that, over the centuries, religion has helped to create and promote what we now consider to be "common decency". Primitive man certainly didn't have any sense of what we now call common decency.
As for the gay thing I say do your thing, but when they take their propaganda into schools and feed it to kids as young as kindergarten I have a problem with that. I don't think that is "what's best for humanity".

Well, it is a religious based university, right? Why should they allow what that religion is against? Gotta have some colleges where moral principles are held in high regards. For the left wing ones sure as hell don't.

A braggart tends to turn people off whether its a president or just some guy. Obama certainly was not a humble man by any measure, but he chose his words more carefully.

Those rules were not incredibly stupid at the time. People still get sick from eating shellfish today. Homosex still spreads diseases today as it must have done back then. Eating raw meat (blood) is still not a good idea today. Adultery - has that ever been "good for humanity"?
