ACTUALLY, a man whoring around and doing risky things without even using protection with other men poses THIRTY TIMES the risk of contracting HIV of a man whoring around and doing risky things without even using protection with women.

 

Such thing aren't covered because it might reflect badly on gays.

 

That may be true as far as HIV, but there are a ton more other diseases anyone can contract and that do kill or ruin lives.

 

The age group that is at the most risk is 15-25. Now I certainly don't speak for all gay men. But I remember as a youth not wanting to be gay. I've come across a lot of gay men that felt that way. And I wonder if it's really the binge and purge behavior that puts them at higher risk.

 

Why is it so important to you thay the media c cover it? Gay people are informed, there is an entire community that works hard at getting that message out to young gay people.

Could be, especially if they are having a ton of unprotected sex with people they really don't know. I think that is the biggest factor in all this.

That I can't even try to answer. Maybe a cultural/lifestyle issue but I couldn't really give an answer on that. First thing though is we need to better educate youth period about the dangers they are facing with unprotected sex. Gotta start somewhere.

I suspect its 1) gays on average having many more sexual partners than straights, 2) being more likely to have unprotected sex than straights and 3) More likely to engage in anal sex.

Some people think that if society just pretended that homosexual men didn't exist and to treat them unfavorably that it will magically dissappear. But facing the problems and discussing them means they have to a knowledge it. The bible says we should kill them. You know scientifically speaking the bible is 100% accurate. Unprotected sex is an issue across the board. AIDS is a danger to us all.

Maybe we should criminalize homosexuality - that seemed to have worked well in the past and has totally eradicated AIDS in Africa.
Maybe we just need to ban same sex marriage, I'm sure that would help promote monogamy.

Do you have any point besides gay = bad? Btw, your statistics are skewed severely by black msm and partially by Hispanic msm, all other msm categories have seen declines, some significantly so. Black msm represent about .2% of the population yet account for 22% of new infections, and growing - and guess where most of those black men live... In the deeply intolerant and religious controlled areas of the south.

Education - in school (that means we have to acknowledge gay people exist, gasp!) is the main way this needs to be tackled. Not by additional stigma that you bigots love to heap on.
