in china that wasn't true, extra/excess children particularly girls were often given away or sold or killed at birth...the reality of life is harsh, too many mouths endangers the entire family...and that didn't happen very long ago, my wife's aunt disappeared at birth no one will discuss what happen, officially she never existed...my in-laws suggested we give away one of our children as we had too many...

and families are much smaller in western countries than they used to be has that changed our societies? not really economics changed our societies...

high birth rates are directly related to poor education ...the US isn't generally well educated, while educated americans have small families the remainder have more than they can support...N Korea while not a wealthy country has universal and efficient public education with progressive health care that provides easy access to birth control for young women...

Sounds like paradise! Are you planning on moving?

North Korea's dictator will be happy to tell you what to think. Unfortunately he'll probably also starve your family while he enjoys a third helping.

[China reform of its health-care system. The New Rural Co-operative Medical Care System (NRCMCS) is a 2005 initiative to overhaul the healthcare system, particularly intended to make it more affordable for the rural poor . Under the NRCMCS, the annual cost of medical coverage is 50 yuan (US$7) per person. Of that, 20 yuan is paid in by the central government, 20 yuan by the provincial government and a contribution of 10 yuan is made by the patient. As of September 2007, around 80% of the rural population of China had signed up (about 685 million people). The system is tiered, depending on the location. If patients go to a small hospital or clinic in their local town, the system will cover roughly 70-80% of their bill. If the patient visits a county clinic, the percentage of the cost being covered falls to about 60%. If the patient requires a specialist in a modern city hospital, the plan would cover about 30% of the bill.[1]]

Opening paragraph of Wikipedia on it... Ffs that's better Public healthcare coverage than USA still has...

Would you like to compare public healthcare in India..? It's pointless comparing developing nations with OECD nations, and compared with other developing nations China is a superstar on improved living standards and development...

    How about public education..?
Yes there are problems with the One Child Policy and China's lack of a public pension system is now seeing young couples having to support four parents...

Okay the Chinese government spends < $6 per year assisting some Chinese people.

You have failed to prove your earlier assertion:
Go ahead. Why do you say Indian public healthcare is much worse?

    I agree.

North Korea faces famine: 'Tell the world we are starving'
More than a decade after North Korea was struck by a famine that killed up to a million people, the country's poorest are once again facing starvation, reports Peter Foster in Yanji

hence force abortion is VERY rare cause there are other methods to pursue couples not to have too many children. if they work for government they might get fired, else they get alot fines. there are plenty couples in china have 2 childrens, especially in rural place. china need population control due to its overpopulations, force abortion is wrong but other law need to be in place to pursue couple not to have too many children, fines for example. if china didn't establish the control in late 70's, its population should be around 2billion right now. look at india, hundreds million go hungry everyday. finite resources means finite population. china don't have that much fresh water or arable land compare to US, and its population is 4-5time the size of US.

North Korea's healthcare system is pretty awful, actually. Their education system is about the most propagandic of any in the world.

no the solution is limit the population growth, save resource. those who got too many pay a fine. force abortion is VERY very rare, and its not a solution, just some local official take advantage of the law and twist it to meet their quota.

Because poor children in India aren't entitled to any treatment except from western charities... Child poverty is far higher in India, as is Child labor...
Seriously you can't make irrelevant comparisons btwn China and the OECD... By comparison capitalist India falls way short...

Do you know why I wouldn't be American for a million dollars..? Because of your pathetic workers rights, pathetic payscale and your pathetic healthcare system...
It's funny seeing Americans talk about underpaid labor in China, while they ignore workers rights in Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia or occupied Afghanistan...
Or while they pay a laughable OECD minimum of $7.50 an hour and it's I adequately enforced so immigrant labor ends up working for even less...

    Proof?
India's economy is classified as "Mostly Unfree" HERE. It's at about the same level as China.

propaganda is irrelevant the usa education system is rife with propaganda, basic education in N Korea is taken care of unlike many third world countries...in regards to contraception availability and universal information/education they do well, the women however poor understand the economic need for small families...India has poor education for girls and a 2.8 birth rate compared to china at 1.7, N korea 2.01, Japan 1.39....USA 2.06...

Absolutely. China can't sustain 1,000,000,000 people. Although I wish they were better at contraception than they are at aborting 7-mo. old fetuses.

Nonsense. The government is deciding these issues for women right here in the U.S. - thanks, of course, to all those good people who actually believe they hate government intrusion.

Maybe in magic land. Not on planet earth. Well, if you define "take care of" as "struggling to survive and possibly dying horribly", then yeah, maybe.
