Into Page? True, they also used an article by Isikoff that used leaked info from the unverified dossier as supporting evidence.

He was charged with lying about two dates and served 14 days in jail. Not much there.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/30/...-investigation-began-george-papadopoulos.html

He clearly knew about Russia having dirt on Clinton:

During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.

About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.

Exactly how much Mr. Papadopoulos said that night at the Kensington Wine Rooms with the Australian, Alexander Downer, is unclear. But two months later, when leaked Democratic emails began appearing online, Australian officials passed the information about Mr. Papadopoulos to their American counterparts, according to four current and former American and foreign officials with direct knowledge of the Australians’ role.

What’s your point? Most everyone was aware Clinton was corrupt and in bed with russians. That’s the story.

Wow, you’re lost in the sauce.
I provided the source, so unless ABC is making **** up, you just embarrassed yourself again. If your reading comprehension wasn’t so bad, you’d notice that Steele was scheming with Ohr, before Clinton crony reported his conversation with Papadopolous.

The above-cited article lays out the facts. It goes on to state as follows, totally refuting the fairytale that the investigation was "started by Steele!! Blargh!" :

"Once the information Mr. Papadopoulos had disclosed to the Australian diplomat reached the F.B.I., the bureau opened an investigation that became one of its most closely guarded secrets. Senior agents did not discuss it at the daily morning briefing, a classified setting where officials normally speak freely about highly sensitive operations.

Besides the information from the Australians, the investigation was also propelled by intelligence from other friendly governments, including the British and Dutch. A trip to Moscow by another adviser, Carter Page, also raised concerns at the F.B.I.

With so many strands coming in — about Mr. Papadopoulos, Mr. Page, the hackers and more — F.B.I. agents debated how aggressively to investigate the campaign’s Russia ties, according to current and former officials familiar with the debate. Issuing subpoenas or questioning people, for example, could cause the investigation to burst into public view in the final months of a presidential campaign."

Yep. Russia, Russia, Russia. Now that it has fallen apart because it was a nothingburger they move on to anything they can find so the effort was ineffective to try and take out a candidate but has been effective for propaganda against a sitting President. Papadopoulos served 14 days for lying about two dates. LOL

Do you even read your "sources" before posting? It's accepted fact that the FBI opened the counterintelligence investigation because of Papadopolous.

It's beyond silly to claim that Ohr and Steele were "scheming" for some nefarious plot. Steele, as a former MI6 agent, thought Ohr ought to know about, and Ohr didn't meet with FBI investigators until 4 months after the commencement of the investigation.

Are you suggesting that everyone is "lying" and it was really super-secretly the Steele Dossier that started it off?

Yeah, it was a total ****ing coincidence that Steele was in contact Ohr almost seven months before the FBI opened up a counter intell op. Wow, dumb.

Really? When did it "fall apart", exactly? You trumpers have been making that claim forever, and it doesn't ever seem to be borne out.

There are a lot more, and larger coincidences, involving Bonespurs' campaign's contacts with Russia than that.

I note that the only thing that you're hanging your red hat on is a Trump-fueled conspiracy theory.

    Fail.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

    We all make mistakes, right?

Well, not me, but you get the idea.

"The Aussie" represented the Australian government when they steered $25million in tax dollars to the Clinton Foundation.

Does that make you go: hmm...?

I think I've just demonstrated who's out of their league between the 2 of us. You see, I use credible sources, not regurgitated orange fabrications. I suggest that you do the same thing from now on.

Do you need help getting back up again?

For the 5,001st time, the investigation is ongoing, and only the blind think that the Russian interference isn't part of it.
