Actually, that is what the legislature is supposed to do: Write laws, and the executive ensures they are enforced. But the legislature thinks its role is to ensure the enforcement, to actually try and rule over the executive branch. That's not "checks and balances", that's called encroachment.

From asking for Trump's taxes, to the taxes of his family members is gross encroachment as never seen in our country's history. It's even revealed a flawed ruling by the Court that will most definitely be challenged for among other things, violating the 4th Amendment of the Constitution.

They are there to vote yes or no they way they want. Your demands that Trump can dictate how they must vote.... insanity.

You are assuming people will vote for the guy they would like to have a beer with over the guy who is stuffing their wallet with cash and their 401k with ever increasing retirement funds.

Not when you factor in being an incumbent and having an extremely successful economy but keep the never Trumper hopes alive if it helps you sleep at night.

Reagan's average approval number was 52.8% and if the media was as bad then as it is now he would have the same numbers as trump

Very true. The people that used the collusion delusion as an excuse to hate Trump were not swayed by no collusion findings by Mueller

Not that I disagree that Trump is uncouth that still doesn’t mean media isn’t being unfair as well for example

Here Don lemon acts like using the phrase witch hunt is uneducated and frowned upon but it’s really not difficult to find Democrat politicians using the same phrases

    Democrats “Benghazi Witch-hunt”

    democrats “Fast and Furious Witch-hunt”

And the other 55% approving Trump’s economy... stupid them, right? But then again, are these 55% of Americans approving Trump’s handling of economy, are they all Conservatives? We are all know, Dems will never give Trump high marks on anything, right? So what does it tell yea? Are Dems in significant minority in this country? Or are Dems simply voting with their wallets, be it Trump or anyone else?

An eye opening poll, my friend, and it does not look good for Democrats.

Although I think it's Trump's uncouth, distasteful personality that leads independents to dislike him. They also recognize the what you call, the unfair media treatment.

Question 29. Worse Treatment Compared Compared with how the media has treated other Presidents, have they treated Donald Trump. Only 12% of independents think the media has treated Trump better than other presidents, 28% about the same while 41% say worst including 25% who state the media has treated Trump much worst than other presidents. The treatment of Trump by the MSM is acknowledge by independents.

    https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/75p17530i6/econTabReport.pdf

You can throw in that only 30% of independents trust the MSM to report the news fully, fairly and accurately.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/195542/americans-trust-mass-media-sinks-new-low.aspx

There isn't much trust in the media outside of Democrats which gain the advantage in most of the media's reporting. Biased is acknowledged, this is due in my opinion to the media taking sides in our political battles. But my main point still stands, it's Trump's unique, very unpresidential behavior and persona that drives independents from him.

Where did you get Lost? The economic data is perfectly clear. The economy has been on the exact same unchanging upward trend for 9 years.

“it'sTrump's unique, very unpresidential behavior and persona that drives independents from him.”

In a vacuum I agree but picking a president is about weighing variables to see what ones top priorities are. Some independents will weigh his personality and uncouthness as a top priority when determining, others will see potential government overreach on democrats side and vote purely against them, not necessarily for Trump, just so democrats don’t get rewarded for exceedingly poor behavior.

One, if your truly independent I’d venture to guess your a left leaning one so that would play a factor in your decision as well. Two, that would be your personal preference as I am also an independent and I don’t remember voting to elect you as our spokesman to speak for all of us lol

I said this numerous times, 2020 all depends on whom the Democrats nominate. In 2016 the Democrats nominate someone who was more disliked by independents than Trump was. In fact while 40% of independents viewed Trump favorably, 57% had an unfavorable view of him. Hillary Clinton was much worst when it came to independents, 27% favorable, 70% unfavorable. Questions 10 and 11.

    https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/l37rosbwjp/econTabReport_lv.pdf

This enabled Trump to win the independent vote 46-42 over Hillary with 12% voting against both Trump and Clinton by casting their ballot for a third party candidate. Independents gave Trump the white house. This leads to the question, will the Democrats make the same mistake they did in 2016 in 2020? We'll see.

There is no doubt independents don't like Trump much. 23% do, 44% don't. That 44% includes a group of 33% of independents who dislike Trump a whole lot. He won't get their votes. Then again, for the rest it all boils down to whom the democrats nominate. With the right nominee that appeals to independents, 2020 could be a landslide for the Democrats. Nominate the wrong candidate that independents dislike as much as Trump, that let's him back into the game. You could have a repeat of 2016.

Another thing to remember, in 2016 it was Hillary with all the political baggage. Trump was an unknown. 2020, Trump will be the one with the political baggage.

What our Obama worshipers continue to ignore is that Obama ordered Susan Rice to order a stand down in the counter intelligence procedures against KNOWN Russian election interference attempts during the 2016 election. Obama ordered a stand down and then after the fact 'discovered' that the Russians had attempted to interfere.
