As I said - a little actual reading around the subject from reliable sources would be appreciated

Even if people took the time to really look at the true arguments - not the strawman ***** that the RW sites post but the real source material such as the IPCC then we would not get ignorant posts like the OP

I just now listened one more time to D'Souza. You flat put words into his mouth he never said. I was wondering as others wondered why you refused to watch the video. i don't know what part of it you watched. He never mentioned Paris. His was the general case that counties such as India need to climb out of poverty. They must obtain oil to enhance their economy. The have machines and equipment that currently use oil or it's products. They are in no economical condition to obey you.

Why are you even talking about the Paris Deal? You are the only poster that brought it up. When you did, some of us responded, wondering why the hell you won't watch the video.

I remind you India is not Morocco. You talk as if you have a financial interest in solar or wind power. I am sure you want to protect your own bank account.

I am sure solar works well all night long.:roll::roll:My god, you honestly believe that.:roll:

So, in India you claim, they will install solar on the shacks of the poor and supply them with power? Do you honestly see India as like Portland Oregon?

Hey, knock yourself out with your fans and reflectors, I happen to be in situation where my electric power comes included in the rent. If the owner wants solar on his roof, fine by me. He can't install windmills since it is not approved by the city.

But the problem is that if we allow a run-away warming effect feet of sea level rise will flood India's major cities over the next several hundred years, and crop and water yield will significantly decline leading to increased poverty. This is why India voluntarily signed on to the Paris Accord. The damage from global warming over the next few centuries far out-weight the difference between more and less energy dense options. And alternative sources like solar, hydro-fuel, hybrid, and electric technologies are beginning to come down significantly. And it isn't like cheap oil is going to last forever so these countries are going to be forced onto alternative energy anyway.

He must be an idiot then because very small quantities in nature can have a very big effect. For example several hours of exposure to 9 ppm of carbon monoxide is highly dangerous. It has been shown in the lab that CO2 has a heat trapping ability and can noticeably raise the temperature.

Trust me, i stay out of your politics. I do not believe you mean well. I believe this is profit driven on your part and you resent us who accept climate change all day long, yet do not accept I nor you control climate.

I got into this around 1980. When did you get into the global study of climate?

    See what I mean??

IPCC assessments are research not politics

And no-one "controls" climate - that is a political statement and a strawman

Of COURSE he didn't mention Paris.

Paris is the REFUTATION of his claim that climatologists are assaulting India's energy future, threatening India's food supply, or whatever.

If you know about Paris, you know the video is bunk.

Specifically, you would know that climatologists fully recognize India's need and you would know that the plan is for India to make plans for India against goals that India thinks are reasonable for INDIA TO MAKE!

What does India think of the Paris Agreement?

Seems they see it as an economic opportunity

How the hell did this revert to Paris? I can't recall introducing it. If I introduced Paris, and it is not mentioned by D'Souza in his talk, I apologize since Paris is a diversion. It derails the topic and that is the aim of the poster that introduced it.

As to India. I leave all of this up to them. If they want to believe they control climate, i do not care. If Brazil thinks it runs climate, I am not worried. Here in America, the hated industry barons have invented or perfected technology and merchants, also hated by Democrats work hard to fill their bank accounts by selling you solar systems for your roof. They do it for themselves. They grow wealthy doing it. Even to those, I applaud them. I do not resent any home owner in my city that installs solar. We do not allow windmills though.

I am still hunting for the NASA expert that mathematically proved the problem is not Carbon Dioxide. I keep wondering why some of you so eagerly hopped onto this blaming carbon dioxide train wreck and believe climate is your fault?

Let me suggest this to all carbon dioxide haters.

    I speak to you all.

Buy seeds. Plant trees. Plant gardens. Give the carbon dioxide places to be used. Seek money from your government to plant open areas with trees. It all uses up carbon dioxide. If you live next to the Sea, get your own city council to start defending your city. They have engineers to call on. Engineers can design and build sea protection systems. Maybe a wall or enormous pumps. Have those powered by the windmills or solar panels. Stop arguing with me and blaming me. I admit i drink carbonated water but why would you care? Go to the local dry ice plant and seek to shut it down. Ask the users of dry ice to stop. i don't know what more to tell you. Stop the whining. The Sun works day and night someplace on Earth. You can't change that.

This is not my preferred video but hell, there seem to be tens of thousands of videos on youtube. I shall persist. But give this a try.

    FALSE.

The video brings up the accusation that India is being forced to do something from forces outside of India.

But, the only climate change force outside of India is the Paris Accord.

So, figuring out the Paris Accord is the CENTRAL point, NOT a diversion.

If there is nothing forcing in the Paris Accord, then the guy in your video is either ignorant or is deceiving the guy in the audience who posed the question.

198 countries signed the Paris accord

That is a lot of belief i n science over you tube videos

Perhaps all those other countries, the leaders, the advisors etc know something that you do not know?

You have this a little muddled.

People are finding a financial gain by putting solar on their roofs. In fact, corporations are springing up where they will do it for FREE if they can share the financial advantage with you!!

If there is a problem it is that the central power companies and those who distribute the central power are opposed to the smart metering required for homeowners to benefit from their rooftop generating capability.

Well, I do not accept that all countries are honest. Have you read the actual documents?

It seems as if you are judging a document from a far away place you probably never read as of right now.

Look, I thought you were talking to us all about India where you tried to fake us out by you claiming D'Souza whined India was being forced. You were asked a few times to prove your own claims. To date you did not prove your claim. It seems fine with you to call me a liar yet if you get the return compliment, you report to the mods.

Again,. Dinesh never said India is forced. He never said Paris. You wanted to derail this as i believe it to be.

It is an utter waste of time and probably a lot of capital. Man does not control global climate.

You denigrated my point while responding to someone else rather than me.

If you disagree with me, please tell me your argument.

Once again, humans do not control climate.

However, we can affect our climate. More specifically, we can affect the global average temperature of our planet by modifying our atmosphere such that slightly less heat escapes into outer space.

Unless you are Distaff, I did no such thing. And you still refuse to prove D'Souza mentions being forced nor does he mention Paris.

I do not believe it is mathematically possible that earth is warmed by man produced carbon dioxide. Even were it so, i have suggested many ways to mitigate it entirely or at least by a huge part. But this is always ignored.

Thank you for admitting humans do not control climate. This is the guts of the argument i make. That we do not control climate.

I am positive climate changes and have illustrated that hundreds of times to a huge variety of posters who love to talk about this topic. If you have solar, now get busy planting plants of a wide variety. Solve the problem you admit man does not control.

198 different countries across the world and you think they are not honest???

I have read the IPCC and I have read most of the Paris Agreement

    http://unfccc.int/paris_agreement/items/9485.php

Cannot say I know it by heart but at least I have read through it.

Have you even looked at it?

Well, luckily enough India isn't agreeing with your guy.

They DO see this as a serious issue.

As I've pointed out/agreed, they have more than one issue. China is in the same boat - they have more than one issue.

And, it's also true that a person starving in India is going to pretty much be focused on ONE problem.

Your guy is also right in that an individual isn't going to feel the earth get warmer. For another example, YOU seem to think that an early cold snap discounts a warming planet - as if your area was some sort of representative of the planet.

The catch is that people who have influence in India's future need to see beyond the one problem, need to see the opportunity (such as in the US, where more people work in clean energy than in all coal jobs), need to see the risks to the population of sea rise, water becoming more scarce, etc.

It would indeed be a serious moral problem if India were to ignore climatology and sail toward the future as if everything will be better for India if they just close their eyes.

Again, India isn't doing that. And, the guy in your video should learn why.

    ?? I've done that repeatedly.

The catch is that you suggest you know better than the vast majority of scientists in fields related to the study of climate who say we ARE AFFECTING the average temperature of the earth and that the results will include a very serious and growing cost.

    Oh lord hell no.

I have yet to claim that our snow in our mountains proves long range climate. I would never say long range climate has a thing to do with our snows. But I counter those who use the same analogy to try to prove man is why earth warms. They even admit to me that man is not able to control climate. I am a man. Thus why do posters argue with this man over global climate? They admit I can't stop earth from warming.

India has an unfortunate enormous population who are poor. I doubt they have a lot to say over the government there.

    Let's test your thesis.

How often to you plant trees? Do you also plant other plants you believe capture and use Carbon Dioxide? Do you practice what you preach?

No, I listen to climatologists as a whole.

You search out the one or two who you THINK back your opinion.

The thing is, we never base public policy decisions on full knowledge. We didn't know what TARP would do, yet we did it twice. We don't even know what it accomplished after having done it. Etc.

As Newt Gingrich said, we make public policy when the odds of a problem times the cost of the problem goes high.

With climate change, we know the cost is gigantic in terms of human life as well as standard of living. And, we know the likelihood is high as well.

This IS a moral issue. And, 189 nations know enough to take action.
