A lot of kids here go to the local community college for two years and work. Many save money for when they transfer to get the second two years. These are the smart kids.

That’s great, if a person can get a job and that company is willing to pay. As to your second point, we do...our govt, local, state and federal give tons of money for education. You can go for 12 years for basically free. Great nation we live in.

I agree. A little struggle, hard work, and accountability never killed anyone. In fact, it builds character. @danielpalos's ideas would just lead to more dependency, more entitlement, and more financial burden on the government and taxpayers. This country wasn't founded on dependency and entitlement, and we've already headed too far in that direction now as it is, we don't need to encourage more of it.
