I mean to go on TV in your 50's and whine that you are college educated, not disabled, and unable to stand on your own two feet: Zero pride, vapid. She should be very ashamed of herself.

Or they could get a job and go to school and learn even more valuable life lessons.

Great, go to school. We have a first world economy because people learned to work, and survive. Not because the govt gave them a check to not work

A lot of kids here go to the local community college for two years and work. Many save money for when they transfer to get the second two years. These are the smart kids.

sure; some Firms may even pay them to learn relevant skills.

The point is, we have a First World economy and we should be promoting the general welfare with our welfare clause General, whenever possible.

Well then, indoctrinated, indebted and stupid it is! :p

Or they could work while they go to college. Then employment compensation (you know, your paycheck) could help them "focus on learning or upgrading their skills or fulfilling general education requirements."

only illegals don't care about the law; only hypocrites blame less the less fortunate for being "illegal".

the point is, we need to get more people off the street and into something productive for our economy; the ready reserve labor force is both necessary and proper.

Again, wtf does "compensation for capitalism's natural rate of unemployment" have to do with at-will?

no one is saying it isn't. we subscribe to capitalism and capital is a requirement. some on the left don't want to hear right wing complaints and excuses regarding social services, if they don't want to merely use capitalism and mere capital to solve this dilemma.

I am sorry but that response is too great not to bump it up.

I am still struggling to figure out the point of the OP. Oh yea, the sun came up on another Trump presidency.

That’s great, if a person can get a job and that company is willing to pay.

As to your second point, we do...our govt, local, state and federal give tons of money for education. You can go for 12 years for basically free. Great nation we live in.

Australia is a much richer country than the USA, much richer per capita. It should be easy to repair all their problems with having so much money.

"We" need to do nothing. Individuals left alone will be productive. Just get out of the way.

The poster has been derailing threads using federalist jargon and clearly doesn't entirely understand it! For starters it's not "welfare clause General" it's The general welfare and simply the start of the Taxing and spending clause found in the constitution and fathered by Hamilton..

    I agree.

A little struggle, hard work, and accountability never killed anyone. In fact, it builds character.

@danielpalos's ideas would just lead to more dependency, more entitlement, and more financial burden on the government and taxpayers.

This country wasn't founded on dependency and entitlement, and we've already headed too far in that direction now as it is, we don't need to encourage more of it.
