Comey vs. Trump, it is not going to be pretty

I didn't say anything about a crime. If you are calling the mountain of evidence "unrelated and irrelevant," you really haven't been following this story very well.

Flynn is turning over his subpoenaed documents. Trump's son-in-law is being questioned about setting up a back channel to the Russians using Russian embassy equipment while just a private citizen. Trump's campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, is being questioned. Is all that "unrelated and irrelevant," too?

 

You think all this is funny? That says a lot about you.

If Comey had the balls to refuse it's no longer a crime?

Is there a point in there somewhere? The "Dems" have nothing to do with any of this. Comey is a Republican, and he is being questioned by a Senate committee dominated by Republicans.

Because Comey will not lie in testimony. If asked a direct question he will give an honest answer. It may be a dance but it will have to be an honest answer and that isn't good for Trump

Trump asked Comey if he could let it go (after Flynn's firing). Comey replied/acted no and the investigation continued. Where is the crime ??

 

He is a highly educated and respected jurist who knows the law.

Of course, Comey isn't going to accuse Trump of obstruction of justice. I knew that the day we found out he was going to testify. The FBI provides evidence. The DOJ and, in this case, the special prosecutor will decide on any charges. "So, now what?" There is plenty more.

Something else came up that is related to the overall picture.

The Russian meddling in our election was far worse than originally thought. A report by the NSA leaked and published by The Intercept on Monday revealed how that agency believed that “Russian military intelligence executed a cyber attack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election.” It also claimed that Russian military intelligence “executed cyber espionage operations against a named U.S. company in August 2016, evidently to obtain information on elections-related software and hardware solutions,” and that it most likely did this in order to “launch a voter registration-themed spear-phishing campaign targeting U.S. local government organizations.”

The Trump administration is very concerned about this. It and conservative media are going after the person who leaked this information.

 

Meh, they were probably just trying to find out if Hillary was trying to hijack the election. After all, she had all the connections and money and a history of underhanded operations.

There will be much in former FBI Director James Comey’s upcoming congressional testimony that will make the White House uncomfortable, but he will stop short of saying the president interfered with the agency's probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn, a source familiar with Comey's thinking told ABC News.

On the other hand, he will tell the Senate committee exactly what Trump said. It will be for others, DOJ, special prosecutor, to decide if there are any criminal charges, conduct unbecoming, or high crimes or misdemeanors.
