My bet is that if the official infection rate is 13.8%, the actual infection rate is at least twice that high.

Slowly and mostly undetected, the herd immunity grows.

You cannot tell what the total infected rate is by looking at the percent tested positive.
You need a random sample of the population to determine that.
I'm in Arizona. Percent of cases that test positive is 7.5%.
Percent of total population that have had it is 3.5%.

 

Estimate in UK is one in 400 people have been infected

This means the total number of infections is actually higher.

 

The 13.87% is the number of positive results / the number of tests. There's no random sample involved.

The percentage of asymptomatic doctors, nurses etc will be the same percentage as the rest of the population but these doctors, nurses etc will be tested as positive hence will give a higher infection rate.

I presume you mean "infection rate" not "infections" to which the reply is no it doesn't. Otherwise obviously the number of total infections is higher if you include everyone in the country in your sample but the sample size is also bigger

 

You stated that the infection rate would be at least 26% if everyone is tested which is 100% wrong.

 

Right - but the number of these people compared to the number with symptoms is very small.
We don't know the number of tests done on the asymptomatic, we only know the % of total tests that came back positive.
All this means is the total number of case is actually higher than the rate of positive tests suggests.

But I didn't say 26%

And in any event, as we don't know the infection rate of the asymptomatic, the total rate of infection could very well be twice the rate of current testing
