Post 95 has a link to the final ruling...

The Lehigh ballots were all in hand before the 8pm election day deadline. That's not disputed. There are 860 R ballots for the recent Senate primary in the same category.

The date on the ballot envelope is NOT used by any county in the state for any reason, although SOME date has to be there, by the state law...

Which is why it fails the federal "materiality" law.... the date isn't material to the eligibility of the voter or the sanctity of the ballot..

Given that, I think that's the right decision.

If this has been going on for months do you think the mods will care? How much transphobic bigotry have you seen up that never goes down? We have a thread that says the uvalde shooter is transgender despite no evidence and PF having rules on bigotry and misinformation. Why hasn’t that thread gone down?

How is that the case? The judges ruled that the dating requirement was immaterial; that is, unnecessary. Therefore, these ballots are now supposed to be counted (though I don't know the Post Office would have a record of any ballots which had been returned).
So you agreed that the Courts got it right. As someone who very often does not know the exact date, I strongly concur.

I have no idea what that means (in bold).... The USPS is out of the loop in this case... The ballots weren't "returned" anywhere... they just weren't originally counted... Each election office has them segregated.

Yes, I agree the Federal Appeals court got it right (even if some state courts haven't), although the general dimness of voters never fails to amaze.

And the envelope doesn't require any specific date, although one would assume the date a voter puts the secrecy envelope into the return envelope was the intention... even if you don't mail it for a few days.... who knows??

This is the opening of your OP:
I guess I misread that, if it doesn't mean that they were "returned," to their senders. (In my defense, I'd say that, at least in the context of the SNIP, it was very unclear phrasing, the writer used.)

What federal rule over the state election? The states makes the rules for their elections not the feds. But HEY let's have the one national voting system using the system my state uses.

“Dr. Oz, a retired heart surgeon, will take on John Fetterman, a candidate who will be off the campaign trail because of a heart problem.”

Fetterman is most famous for hearing a firecracker and in response running down the nearest black jogger and holding him at gunpoint.

Fetterman also lied about his very serious heart problem.

Fetterman’s doctor finally reveals: Yes, he has an underlying heart problem.

Dr. OZ has a fabulous heart and has never grabbed his shotgun and run down a black jogger.

Fetterman's gun incident rattles Black Democrats in Pa. Senate race
Apr 25, 2022 "The man Fetterman pulled a gun on is Black. Fetterman — the mayor of the Pittsburgh-area borough of Braddock at the time and now the state's lieutenant governor — is white. Fetterman, 52, said he..."

Looks like your claim is fake news. I see no polling supporting that claim.

Fetterman recovering from stroke, promises return to PA Senate campaign

Fetterman didn't lie about his serious heart problem, because he didn't know he had a serious heart problem, because he didn't visit a doctor for 5 years...

A man of his size should know better than that...

I'd still rather vote for a man with heart problems over a man with no heart at all...

Also, he's MOST famous for trolling that moron Dan Patrick of Texas for refusing to pay off when Fetterman found the voter fraud Patrick was looking for...

I think Pennsylvanians will reject the Persian Carpet(bagger) and vote for the local boy..

What are you intending to accomplish with this derogatory reference to Oz's ancestry?

What do you think of the charge that the Democrat Party is the party of 'angry white octogenarians'?

Primarily to get Pennsylvanians to vote for the born and bred Pennsylvanian, over a man who has minimal ties to the state...

    https://www.abc27.com/2022-united-s...-matters-in-pennsylvania-us-senate-race-poll/

I think that charge is only party true (Democrats are not generally the angry party) and I'd rather have angry white octogenarians than angry white racists...

And yet it's you who called Oz a "Persian Carpet (bagger)". Are you really the one who should correct others on bigotry?

Actually, it's fabulously on point. Why did you refer to Dr. Oz as a Persian Carpet (bagger)?

And unlike the Democrat nominee, he has never grabbed a shotgun and run down an innocent unarmed black jogger and held him at gunpoint.

Because his family background is middle eastern, he has joint citizenship, and he has very few Penn connections.

He's a carpetbagger, but since Persian carpets are famous, he's a Persian carpet(bagger). It was a bit of cleverness that managed to escape your narrow gaze...

Sorry, but I'm not dumbing my posts down for a general audience...

Actually your slight of his persian ancestry wasn't clever it all. You don't seem to be any more clever than than the rather unclever Fetterman.

    [IMG]https://www.cnn.com › 2022 › 06 › 06 › politics › john-fetterman-campaign-trail-break-july › index.html
Fetterman's wife says Democratic Senate candidate may be away from ...

"Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman may be away from the campaign trail until July, his wife told CNN on Monday, as she pushed back on suggestions that the family had not been been fully transparent about the extent of his heart condition following a stroke last month."

"Asked if John Fetterman would return to campaigning by July in one of the nation's marquee Senate contests, she replied: "Maybe. I think so. That's my hope."

"Giselle Fetterman dismissed the notion that the campaign had not been fully transparent about her husband's health. She had initially described his stroke as a hiccup, and the severity of his illness not revealed until 17 days later. "It's still a hiccup," she said on Monday. "Families go through health crises. Our family is not unique in what we've gone through, only we had to go through it very publicly."

He's not expected to grab his shotgun, after hearing a firecracker, and rundown any more unarmed black joggers and hold them at gunpoint.

"John Fetterman did not disclose previously that he had been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in 2017."

"Fetterman's cardiologist says Democrat, who had stroke, suffers from atrial fibrillation and cardiomyopathy."

"Giselle Fetterman said Monday that" that even though they previously had revealed none of: "I think we've been incredibly transparent." Why sure, transparency is their middle name!

"I think transparency is important!" She claimed.
