    LOL! Read my posts.
The acknowledged fact that our governments have limited our fundamental human right to self defense is the problem.
It is also illegal. Think it through. :)

Huh? I said SCOTUS stopped DC from enacting a law that made using a handgun for self-defense all but impossible. Where is the scofflaw judge?

If you don't like SCOTUS ruling on the constitution, what do you prefer? Are you planning to overthrow the government?
Americans still turn to the ballot box for change. You're barking up the wrong tree if you think they're looking for a revolution.
For stopping people from burning down federal courthouses? In Portland?

Your definition is too broad. Only dangerous people should lose their rights.

Senile people are virtually all potentially dangerous. Some mentally ill people are not.

I take it you'd be happy to have senile people with firearms.

There are many forms and stages of dementia. Your comment is 100% false. The fact that someone may have short term memory issues does not make them dangerous. Painting those with dementia with such a broad stroke only reveals your lack of knowledge on the subject.

My father in law was a Vietnam Veteran. He had the beginning stages of Alzheimers and PTSD. Please explain why he should lose his rights:

Read the 2nd amendment. The COTUS ignored the clear language and intent. Judges frequently do that. Surely you have noticed?

    "Text of the 2nd Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

IOW, it is illegal for government to interfere with the right of Americans to carry concealed handguns.
Review human history, government is usually, probably always, complicit in mass slaughters.

When the people are well armed violent crime will be a very isolated problem.

Yes, Big Bad Governments are criminal organizations. They tend to oppress and murder the people they govern. Recruiting and empowering criminals is just apart of the whole.

SCOTUS disagrees on the meaning. I don't think you're going to get your way anytime soon. BTW, I think the meaning is unclear.

The trend is toward Constitutional concealed carry. That's good enough for me.
The meaning and intent of the 2nd amendment is very clear.

I encourage "progressives" to push as hard as they can for strict gun control and gun bans right now.
Go for it. Is that clear enough? :)

Consistency is not a hallmark of what passes itself off as a "progressive" movement these days. ;-)

I think it's been replaced with Irony and hypocrisy. But I do understand their struggle for relevancy during this time of total party failure :(

Because you're acting like SCOTUS is violating rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Of course they are. The SCOTUS has a long history of doing just that.

Is that really "news" to you?

There is more state legislation supporting concealed carry, but SCOTUS is not saying the Constitution guarantees it.
    SCOTUS doesn't endorse your view.
We were discussing concealed carry, not gun bans. District of Columbia v. Heller says government can't ban guns, explicitly or by a backdoor of forcing gun owners to lock up their weapons.

    Is that clear?

SCOTUS is the chief defender of your rights against legislative or executive excess. Are you going to burn their house down?

The Judiciary is the weakest branch of government. Most of the time they do bad things is when the political heat is on. A bill signed into law could easily stack the Supreme Court.

IMO, it's irresponsible to leave firearms in the hands of people who can become confused about reality.

Joe got elected because Republicans ran Trump. Are you going to do it again?

Well that was a odd post, if I'm not mistaken it's a sort of redirect to Orange man bad. It was an awful attempt and an insult to anyone with a smidgen of common sense :roflol:
