    nope, it's limited to Presidents...Presidential oversight does not extend to everyday Americans (unless they become President)

    don't want to release your taxes.... don't become President... Simple

    do you really think Trump refusing to release his taxes could lead to republicans abusing tax laws to go after everyday Americans, that really says what you think about republicans and even more reason Trump should just release them

    "the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request,"

    any return....

    Oh sorry... didn't know if you were talking about the federal law or this NY law.... I suspect the NY law isn't limited to presidents either...

    so nothing stopping Republicans from abusing the law now....

    but we are talking Presidents, I do not think any member of Congress woudl support using this on the American people - your reaching

    sense you trust republicans less then me, maybe Congress should pass a bill to prevent it though... and if republicans refuse to pass it... that would be sad

    I agree this law wasn't intended for "regular" American folk, but there's nothing preventing it either...

    Frankly, I think it would be a higher hurdle to clear for Congress to get the Tax Return of a "regular" person. Getting it for the president should have been almost a rubber stamp IMO...

    I don't trust Republicans at all.... I give it a zero on a 1-100 scale.... I don't know if that's less than you, but I assume it is... :)

    "The bill specifically requires New York’s tax commissioner to release any state tax return requested by the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee for any “specified and legitimate legislative purpose.”

    Please respond to the questions I asked

    Lost so much money when, his financial assets are listed on his financial disclosure forms. What is the legislative purpose for Congress to find that out through his tax returns?
    If he committed tax fraud why hasn't the IRS charged him? Why hasn't New York state already charged him?
    Which form on his tax return shows these contacts he does not want the American people to know and aren't already listed on his financial disclosure forms? What is the legislative purpose of the Congress in that?

    well we will see if Republicans are as bad as you say, if so after Trump's tax returns are release they can change the law back

    This POS bill is going to go through the courts, probably all the way to the top. Fat Jerry isn't going to get squat. Cuomo is an ass that is even more stupid than his fake news brother. I really hope these jerks understand that what goes around comes around. Their day will come.

    IMHO Cuomo is also going to get his rear handed to him on his NRA harassment. What he is doing is as if a Red State penalized companies that dealt with Planned Parenthood.
