And you choose a world enclosed by boundaries set by others. It is you who provide people an excuse to fail and write them off as less than they are. The other side of the dark universe you have chosen is that you get to define what success is for you. If you choose to define that is sitting in moms basement playing video games all so be it But don't get surprised if even mom gets tired of your act after a while. There isn't a rich man out there that hasn't failed at some point in his career, or a poor man who failed to take advantage of an opportunity. That, sir, is life. If becoming wealthy and successful was easy and making excuses hard, there be a lot more rich people, and a lot fewer excuses.

Sorry didn't read down that far. And the difference between a non observant Jew and a Gentile is what precisely? I doubt the man's ever been in a Synagogue in his life. Again one need not be a jew to be an *******. and there are plenty of *******s in the world that have no Jewish heritage at all. I Tell you what you don't blame Jews for Soros and I won't blame Germans for Hitler, Italy for Mussolini, Spain for Franco, Russia for Stalin, or China for Mao

No one claimed that becoming wealthy and successful was easy - but, its much easier for someone who is handed millions of dollars than for someone who is not.

When more black babies are aborted than born and the founder of planned parenthood was a featured speaker at Klan rallies in the thirties, that should tell you everything you need to know about the Eugenics movement of the thirties. A baby is a zygote for about six hours if that so thanks for the red herring
Well not exactly that was true back when LBJ started his great society programs not nearly so much now. There are two circumstance that cause large scale poverty, too much government and too little. What we have hear is far too much and the ability of the entrepreneurs to keep everything rolling is hamstrung.

I have demonstrated that your previous claim was both myopic and a false generalization. Many able bodied people in America, people who work hard and do not do drugs, live in poverty.

Others who make bad choices and do not work as hard are not poor. There are other factors involved. Your fallacy is attributing poverty to just one factor. Sure there are some that are where they are because of bad choices. Others are in poverty for other reasons as described previously.

Just because you ignore these other factors - and completely failed to respond to my examples of other choices - does not make your claim true.

It is also a lot easier to piss it all off and become a drunken stumble bum. The first historical example of that was the Son of ASA first guy to unite India. Managed to piss off all of dad's accomplishments in less time than it took dad to accomplish them. History is replete with wastrel sons and daughters of the rich and successful who spent their way through all of dads fortune and then some.

I have accused liberal bleeding heart welfare policy of causing irresponsible behavour that leads to poverty

But ultimately it a question of personal choice

You forgot to mention bad personal choices such as dropping out of school

Its up to individuals to better themselves through education and hard work

The fact remains that it is a whole lot easier to become successful when you have been socialized by "Normal/ and or educated" parents in a functional environment - schooled in the finest schools - have connections - and a huge bank account.

The fact that some piss this opportunity away is true but it is irrelevant to the point I am making. The fact of the matter is that many do not have such opportunity to begin with.

There are factors other than - making bad personal choices- that can lead to poverty. There are factors other than making the best choices that lead to success.

I did not forget to mention anything. I have agreed that making bad choices - such as dropping out of school - is a factor for many.

I have addressed your arguments.... you on the other hand have completely dismissed all the arguments I have made and facts presented and continue to do nothing but repeat your premise over and over as if that constitutes proof of claim.

The primary difference in success and failure is your willingness to try.

The more money the state spends on welfare programs the less money there is to be spent on other things. It tends over time to limit everyone's horizons.

No... you take the cheap way out, demonizing people with opposing views, by making assumptions about them by slandering their character, because at the end of the day, the arguments are so weak this is the only recourse you have.

I am staunchly conservative. Yet have an asian wife and two black kids. Yes.. yes. Obviously a racist.

    Weak.

Little can be accomplished without a willingness to try. You have moved the bar to an absurd spot. The fact of the matter is that a whole bunch of people with not only a willingness to try but, are trying very hard - are living in poverty.

    More weakness.

You didn't like facts, so again you project other peoples opinions to attempt to slander them.

Sorry facts don't conveniently align with your agenda. They're facts dude.

That, sir, is because the ever growing ever spending welfare state makes it also ever more difficult to succeed if one defines successs as becoming wealthy.

One could say the same thing about the military and tax cuts - and tax havens for the rich.

I completely agree that delivery of welfare in this nation is misguided - that does not mean that welfare only serves to limit peoples horizons or even tends to serve to limit one's horizons.

That said - I do agree that the way welfare is delivered in this nation often tends to limit one's horizons. Why for example is a single parent given a bunch of money for to live in a home without doing anything to improve the environment.

What I suggest is that we have large cooperatives. A big facility where the members have shared cooking facilities, education, child care and so on. The members would do the cooking, cleaning, child care, with some outside supervision and of course education provided by those that are qualified.

Those that do not work at the cooperative then have their time freed up to work elsewhere. The kids are raised in a proper environment with lots of social interaction and support and no gangs preying on them- the mothers are not so stressed because they have available childcare and which frees their time up for work and so on.

In this case the majority of the money going to welfare no longer goes to administration. Done - If someone needs help you go to a cooperative.

How so ? Many of these people are not on welfare - other than getting some get food stamps - they work 60 hours a week and still live below the poverty line.

How does giving these people food stamps make it more difficult for them to succeed and become wealthy ?

And why is the poverty line up by a factor of ten, since the day Johnson created it?
