The Bible also says eating bacon is an abomination. You buffet style Christians pick and choose when you decide to heed the Old Testament. Jesus is quite clear on what constitutes adultery. And yet fake Christians line up to kiss the ass of a serial adulterer and thief. A man who regularly bears false witness against others. A man who covets. No one cares if you pray. As long as you do no harm to others, pray as much as you want to. Just don't ask me to support your religion with government funds or try to force others who do not share your beliefs to pray with you.

Yes, because they have largely evolved past their religious texts thanks to the secular influence of the Enlightenment. Until the Enlightenment, Christian governments executed people for religious offenses.

When a public school recites Christian prayers during school or at foot ball games, that's forcing people. Even if they can not say the prayer, you are basically saying their religion doesn't matter as much as yours. It's a form of isolating and making people feel as though they aren't part of your society. Don't pretend it's not. Imagine how you would feel if you had to sit through Jewish or Muslim prayers at your work. It's a form of defining what's normal and what isn't. It's a sneaky way to subvert the pluralistic nature of our country. And it's used by Christians in the US. Maybe not you personally, but the point simply is, you should oppose any form of religious pressure. But I bet you don't...

Except the KKK’s platform now is almost identical to the Republican platform. The KKK was and is an organization of Rightwing Conservative Christians. When the Democrats were the party of the Southern Conservative Christian, they were Democrats. Now they are the Republicans.
I'm not Christian and I couldn't care less if folks pray in school or before football games or anywhere else. Nor do I care if the 10 Commandments are displayed publicly or anywhere else. Hell they could build one of those huge "Christ the Redeemer" statues that Brazil has and put it up next to the Washington Monument for all I care. I don't care what anybody does as long as you aren't bothering me. But then again my definition of "bothering me" is vastly different than the majority of folks in society who don't necessarily adhere to the age old adage of "mind your own business".
