I agree the question is can he get away it. He's looking very weak and unpredictable and I bet his campaign managers would love to cut out any further debates. Their other problem is they are now cutting back his appearances and the length of those he is attending. Can you imagine if they try to negotiate with Trump's campaign to shorten debates and be able to sit down as he is demanding for Sunday's if he shows up at all. Trump will probably go for THREE HOURS!

The strange thing about this is a month or two ago on this site there was a thread about Trump refusing to tale part in the presidential debates. I didn't pay it any attention, rumors always abound. Perhaps I should have. But I found this.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/12/us/politics/trump-presidential-debate-democrat.html

I wouldn't worry about presidential debates until after the conventions. I haven't given them much if any attention in the past and whether they occur this year or not, I couldn't care. I don't think they accomplish much as most folks tune in to root on their favorite candidate.

    Sounds good.

There is no reason for Biden to debate further, beyond the 15th.

Bernie should be out after the 17th (anyway).

CNN just announced that the Debate will take place without a Live Audience.

    That will change the vibe.

The clown show kicks off in about half an hour. For some reason I doubt there be any mention of Creepy Joe's outbursts against a potential voter. Bernie would be an idiot to drop out if that's how Creepy Joe treats the public, no matter how few delegates he might get...

They are responding to recommended practices from the CDC, re Covid 19. Biden and Sanders have cancelled rallies. Trump refuses to do so and prefers to put his supporters in danger. After all, he doesn't have to touch anyone. What does he care?

What was Biden doing poking a potential voter in the chest today arguing about what he mistakenly called "AR-14's" if they are cancelling crowds?

A Town Hall Debate without the town. How novel!

It will just be a Hall Debate. Does Biden know how to get a hall pass from the DNC, or what?

This is EXACTLY what a liberal friend of mine (cool guy but we completely disagree on political stuff) has been saying. He thinks Sanders is a socialist con-artist and he thinks Biden is a senile old coot in need of the retirement home.

Haha. CCN is cancelling the audience and the post-debate candidate interviews too! DNC sure does protect their chosen one...who can't speak coherently.

"CNN, which was sponsoring the debate, said in a statement there would also be no press filing center and no “spin room,” which is where candidates, their surrogates and reporters gather after the event to discuss how it went."

Maybe they both did. Perhaps we should ask Hillary.

It maybe because now it may be the upcoming one this Sunday he may backout. You know once it's clear you are going to win there is no point in debating someone who is not. But this could be funny.

Yes Trump like many has concerns about this non-profit that runs the debates. We don't need them let the campaigns and news media work them out and choose who will be the moderators. I've seen too many get the Republicans and praise the Democrat moderators by this commission. So it's not that he said he would not debate, he wants someone else to set it up.

There is still a very slim chance that Marty McFly will return from the future with the Delorian and the timeline is changed
