Trump is pro-Constitution. I keep on hearing about Nancy Pelosi's values like the sound of an old 45 rpm record that skips. :alcoholic:

    https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/...o-involvement-in-any-doj-or-fbi-investigation

In 2016, then-President Barack Obama told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace he could "guarantee" that he had no discussions about or influence over any FBI or Justice Department investigations, including the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.

But the latest release of text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page has raised questions about Obama's involvement in the Clinton email investigation, Senate investigators told Fox News.

In one of the text messages released by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016: “Potus wants to know everything we’re doing.”

Strzok and Page worked at one point for special counsel Robert Mueller on the investigation of alleged interference between Russia and the Trump campaign. Strzok was removed from the probe in August 2017, and Page was removed from Mueller's team in September 2017.

Being informed about something is not the same as influencing it.

Try again. I asked for examples of cases that Obama directed.

"Do this by the book". He was influencing it alright.(both Clinton and Crossfire Hurricane.) But it's okay, he's safe. He's one of the untouchables. His prosecution would be "too big to prosecute", easily.

“Do this by the book” = exerting political influence?

That’s the exact OPPOSITE of exerting political influence. It’s confirming that they should follow the rules and not do anything for political purposes.

WTF? Since Nixon, the DOJ has run independent of political influence. Other presidents have made a point of not injecting politics into the DOJ. Keeping their fingers out.

Now you think it is OK for the president to take an active and politically-driven role in directing individual cases? Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. That is the kind of **** that happens in banana republics and dictatorships. It shouldn't happen in USA.

What is political about? With that said, Presidents have regularly taken stances....political driven...ie the death penalty or not...but more over..

Just our last President, Obama, took public stances on cases.....he openly committed on the Clinton case for example....during the election, during an on going investigation!

This is far different then that...he is simply commenting, giving an opinion, of the post conviction phase of a case.

What's your point? Barr is right that it might make his job harder, because the President is so transparent with his views....but the President has a direct role in influencing how justice is done....he IS the Executive, he is the Justice Department

What position did Obama take on the Clinton investigation other than to say he would stay out of it?

Ooo, sounds scary. Y'all are so intimidating. Emergency meeting! SOUND THE ALARM!

    High Priority Bulletin:
"Black ladies and gentlemen, Hispanic ladies and gentlemen, muslim ladies and gentlemen, LGBTQ, and any other Judiciary Committee members here, this is a very important message. We've decided to call an emergency meeting today because it has come to our attention that we are losing again and this is an injustice we've spent a lot of time trying to turn around with "gotcha" moments, divisive rhetoric, division, and psychological projection. Millions of people in this country are still not on our side, which is racist and fascist, so it is again time to take the next step. Since tRump was acquitted by a racist and homophobic Senate after we rightfully impeached him, it has come to our attention that we must make up another reason in which to impeach tRump. If you are creative, good at lying, and can sound convincing, WE NEED YOUR HELP. We can't beat him at the polls, so we MUST act NOW. Please call the leaders for antifa, we need to get them in the streets so we can blame tRump's violent rhetoric. Time is of the essence, PLEASE HURRY!

For some reason the political Left does not like being reminded of that fact.

Yep he should not have said that, and the White House quickly backed off the remarks.

But I suppose you think it was absolutely fine for Obama to say that, since you think it is Ok for Trump to issue much stronger opinions on ongoing cases. And not even back off from those remarks.

What’s stonger? He didn’t suggest Stone was innocent, this wasn’t during the investigation...what’s to back up? He can have an opinion on the sentence

Presidents shouldn’t express their opinions on ongoing cases at all. It injects politics into the justice system.
You seem to think that’s ok.
