While I am against moving at all, I have no problem with Pelosi wanting to move ahead quickly. I think it shows her utter stupidity, but I don't care in the least.

God! Looks like this is really getting to you. It looks like it's fogging your mind, or something. If there is one thing Pelosi is not, it's "stupid". But that's irrelevant. I think it should move quickly too. Whatever the outcome, we need to get on with our lives. If Trump is removed, then we can rest more easily. But if not, we meed to start figuring out what other illegal schemes besides this one he has put in motion to perpetuate himself in power and become a Monarch.

The Republicans want to drag this out to mess with the Democrat Senators campaigning for the Democrat nomination.

    That's possible.

Somebody told me, and it kinda makes sense, that maybe Republican Senators are trying to drag this so, if they have to vote to remove Trump, there won't be time to get a Primary opponent against them when Trump starts tweeting and accusing Republicans for his removal.

I don't know if that's true but... it could be..

They look desperate and childish. They also broke the law and Bill Barr better have them investigated and indicted. Stop the coup attempt.

Guess what? Chief Justice Roberts is sitting right there during the Senate trail, and can make an immediate ruling on subpoenas. There is a good chance, given the history of the Nixon subpoenas being enforced, that Trump's staff will have to honor the subpoenas just like the Democrats. That should be interesting.

First, they need 51 votes in the Senate to do anything. I’m confident they won’t let this become a farce, meaning, Schiff, the Biden’s, Hillary, or whomever won’t be involved.

Second, it might be a smart move to impeach and hold off sending it to the Senate and allow Trump to stew until they get court verdicts. The more time passes the more they’ll uncover the more exposure for Republican’s.

The Democrats won’t look bad unless they start acting like Republicans and profess up is down and black is white.

    Putin won’t be re-elected.

There is an old saying be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. But not in the way you expected.
One of two things happen when this gets to the Senate and which one will almost certainly be a function of who the Reps believe is the most dangerous presidential candidate which in their view will be the one with the broadest coat tails. The one thing that absolutely will not happen is a conviction of Trump.

I was referring to stupidity in this context. I believe that moving quickly on a trial of impeachment is by far the Democrats worst 2020 campaign. They would be much better off continuing the inquiry as long as possible leading up to Nov, 2020. On the other hand, as Pelosi evidentially wrongly believes, it there is a short successful trial they could maybe get a Pence impeachment going.

One will be a real trial while one was a pretend show. Go ahead, try. See what punitive measures can be applied in a real trial.

Oh goody! Because what I wish is that somebody invented a time machine, went back 3 years and somehow managed to convinces Trump not to break the law. So you think I just might get it, huh?

Nothing has been proved. Maybe you should convince the democrats to go back three years and get some actual proof.

Absolutely! I agree. But this is about the Constitution. Not about the 2020 campaign.

Of course! Like Republicans did with the Benghazi Investigation. Which they dragged for years so they would use it in 2016. Except better. First because it would not be "for years". And second because there is the added advantage that, unlike Hillary, Trump is guilty!

Pelosi has been the most difficult Democrat to convince that Trump should be impeached. I'm not saying they won't impeach Pence (though I highly doubt it), but that Pelosi would support it that easily is absolute nonsense. Besides, the probability that the Senate will vote to remove Trump is extemely low (some say zero). So your reasoning does not click.

Absolutely wrong. This impeachment process is 100% about the 2020 election unless they find some way to overthrow the president before. The Constitution has zero relevance..The constitution does not say congress can impeach the president for nothing.... nothing at all is what they have. What did they have when they talked impeachment the day after the 2016 election?

Trump is guilty of nothing. I don't think Hillary is guilty of anything associated with Benghazi (and never have said she is) though she is guilty of perjury in front of the Benghazi committee as Comey testified (under oath) to. It sounds like you are confused with Obama's likely impeachable actions with Benghazi, or Hillary's breaking the espionage act with her server, and her destroying subpoenaed evidence.

The framers got it right by instituting the EC.
Millions of worthless leeches in coastal, high population areas were only able to dictate their state elections and not the national election.

Drag it out? It's only been a couple weeks since the Democrats took us down this road. The investigations leading up to Clinton and Nixon's impeachments took a year. The Democrats have not even provided evidence of impeachable acts. all they have at the moment are opinions, rumors and gossip, and their biased presumptions.

Clinton gave a sworn deposition on January 17, 1998, the Senate trial began on January 7, 1999.

Damn, if it weren't for the piece of crap US Constitution. The dems want to take bottles of Whiteout to so much of it, because it keeps getting in the way of creating their socialist Utopia.

Of course she isn’t stupid but she is more interested in keeping her control and has to deal with her far left wing nutcases so is between a rock and a hard place which has made her do a 180 on her claim that impeachment HAS to be bipartisan.
