our border problem is a refugee issue not an immigration issue.

nothing but ignorance and you attempt to make any claim whatsoever, that I am the one trolling?

only the right wing does that and claims they are not bigots.

Point well made. Your logic is unassailable.

We don't have to promote the welfare of illegal immigrants at all. Its not our responsibility to care for you, just because you show up at our border. There isn't a single story they have that qualifies for asylum. We don't need to accept them, unless they meet our standards, which are currently Nil, and being exploited through loopholes. Without ID, money, or a legit reason, there really isn't a single person showing up at the border on foot we should allow in at all. If you can't afford to fly into Customs and speak with agents with full identification & financial documents, we have absolutely no use for you, since you're an instant drain on our economy.

We are not in any situation to be able to care for millions of illegals when like Cher says, we can't even care for our own and WE should be the priority. Latin America will eventually destroy us. Just wait until moronic lawyers start claiming they DESERVE citizenship due to Climate Change. Because thats of course, all our fault. /derp

Daniel is on the warpath today over this happy news from the State Dept

If it were up to me as much as 90% of visa applications would be denied on the grounds they serve no useful purpose to America or bring no skill that we dont already have

I thought that if someone came here illegally, got caught and deported, they weren't allowed to come here legally …. ever? I hope that's the rule. But I'm not sure how an immigrant can show there isn't a good chance they'll need public assistance. Even a H1B guy can get laid off, and Jared is trying to increase those visas. And that strikes me as very counterproductive, unless those visas have to be renewed regularly and requiring employers show there aren't Americans ready for the same job … at higher pay.

we must distinguish between asylum seekers and everyone else.

all a foreign Person should need do is "show up on Ellis Island and ask for an id. to participate in our markets under our form of Capitalism; simply Because our welfare clause is general."

JUSt more evidence republicans don’t want legal immigration either. Guy was trying to do it right, had a job lined up, and still gets denied?
So he’ll just sneak in instead.

I dont speak for all republicans but I have stated repeatedly that we need to screen immigrants and allow them in based only on merit

That will result in fewer than we are getting now

But it will be a far more sensible policy

Trump won’t pay enough for Americans, he prefers immigrants.

Well there you go. But I don't think either party has much high ground here. If it were put to a poll, I think a large maj (including Hispanics legally here) would oppose using immigrant labor to undercut US wages for legal workers, and that would include unskilled and H1B jobs too. But Jared's trying to expand those, and the dems want some amnesty. And we need to have some kind of analysis of how many workers we need, and they don't just get to stay if we don't need their labor anymore.

Actual immigration for people to become citizens is another issue.

Can't he find legal workers? Is there any evidence he even tried?

There’s no requirement to become a citizen. My father in has been here 65 years and prefers to remain a citizen of Mexico.
