That was when we were a "United we stand divided we fall" nation.

The most successful economic engine in the world is China and that is not very diverse at all.

    In any case it is:

    1) Not a theory but a finding. Social cohesion is less in diverse societies.
    2) Is a social finding not an economic one.

And furthermore California has a booming economy but also a very unequal one. Take a look at the GINI coefficient. California has a few that are very rich, many who are very poor and not too many in the middle.

I have far more than you to think about if you can imagine that. Put it out there if you want. I'm in the here and now.

I think it's odd how people obsess about the past. How there's a market for things like ancestry.com in 23 and me. are you really this pathetic that you have to pay someone to tell you all about your maternal ancestry to feel special?

I have never had to pay anyone to know who my family is and where they came from.

Don't argue with me, argue with the authors of the paper I linked to. Diversity decreases social cohesion. Neighbors help each other less, volunteer less, have less interest in their communities when diversity increases.

So says the data. If the data conflicts with your ideology so much the worse for your ideology, I should think.

But I sure you will continue to say, and even believe, that diversity is our strength even though it is demonstrably false. And you pride yourself on being scientific, sheesh!

I know who my family is without knowing where they originated from. I don't know people who died 20 years before I was born I can't possibly know them.

You can know them in general, the type of life they were likely to lead. My mother insisted I take this test so she could know whether or not a shameful secret on my fathers side was true.

It was. A Turk raped one of my Greek ancestors.

I know a lot about my family back 400 years or so. Where they lived.. What they did for a living.. what land they owned... what church they attended.. where and who they married, the names of their children and where they are buried.

Don't you know that history is irrelevant. Lefties judge all things from the past with today's standards. So your point is moot.

So you mean that people can hate each other for reasons other than race? LOL! Not if you listen to today's liberals.

I've been talking to many Hispanic (Mexican decent) head of households, most who were awarded amnesty under one of the six amnesties snuck through Congress since 1986 and have been naturalized as citizens.

All seem like nice people, raising families many buying homes.

All think America is great and nothing could be better than California today.
They have no concept what "Make America Great Again" means and have no knowledge when America's middle class was prosperous or when America had an industrial base and everything was made in the USA.

They have been indoctrinated that anyone who voted for Trump is a racist and hates Mexicans and they believe it.

Then the politics, they don't even understand why the Constitution has a Second Amendment.
The Second Amendment isn't about self defense or protecting one's home and property. It isn't about hunting and putting meat on the table. That is already covered under "Common Law" and the "Law of Nature." It's about the civilian population having the arms (weapons of war) to to go against a tyrannical government.

That's why the Second Amendment doesn't say "right to bear muskets" or "right to bear rifles" but the "right to bear arms shall not be infringed."

The definition of "arms" when the Bill of Rights was written was "weapons of war."

After every election I crunch the numbers and look at how every precinct voted.

Who voted for Prop 47 ? Hispanics did not knowing what they were actually voting for.

Who voted for not repealing the progressives gas tax increases and vehicle registration fees increases (Prop 6) ?Hispanics

Over fifty years I have seen attempts to raise cigarette taxes on the ballot numerous times and it was always defeated. It's not Americana to tax one minority group, it's a slippery slope. If you vote to raise taxes it will be a tax on everyone not one specific group. Hispanic immigrants see it differently.

I've noticed that most Hispanic immigrants have no freaking idea what sovereignty is.

One of my ancestors was a serf on Tolstoy's estate. I happened to meet Tolstoy's great grandson in my landladies kitchen. I thought it was pretty neat that the descendents of a great man and a humble serf of that lord should meet as equals in a foreign land.

Look at California, it's true that illegal immigration has had a major negative impact on California.

But it's the progressives policies and socialist experimentations that has made California America's first third world state.

It was funny watching the liberals last night in Northern California having a meltdown that PGE has turned off their power and the liberals were asking has California become a third world ???

    Yes...California has gone third world.

Did you know that Studebaker never ran a commercial on television ?

Studebakers were just a little better than Fords and Chevrolets for the same price.

Third World? I just paid 1.25 million for a 1200 square foot 2 bedroom house in a normal neighborhood. Third world?

The power is off because of deregulation and a for profit power company.

The power is also off because Jerry Brown and the progressives has forced PGE and SCE to spend more money on solar and wind farms instead of maintaining the electrical grid infrastructure.

    Re: Deregulation
It sure didn't work out as everyone was expecting.

I don't even know who was actually behind deregulation of the electrical power companies.

Remember the deregulation of the trucking industry during the early 1980's ?
It killed the owner operators truckers in America, the "Knight of the Highways."
