I would prefer to clean my own house before I ask someone to clean theirs.

Do Future Generations of Americans deserve to suffer?

Yes, if they sell their country out to globalist Democrats who hate them and want to punish them for everything wrong with earth.

I’m glad when you retire, for both yourself but also so people like you can go away. The baby boomers are the worst generation in the history of this country. Yours was the generation that created this political environment based on platitudes. “Socialism” “communism” “fascism”. Meaningless titles designed to keep you bickering with your fellow man about which one of you has the more patriotic, pointless viewpoint. All the while, corporate America was railing you, and seizing control of the system through lobbyists. It happened on your watch, and thank you for your apathy. It resonates with my opinions of your generation.

Trump sucks, but I’m no leftist. This “socialism” you worry about is no more real then the child’s boogeyman. What it REALLY is is a growing number of people fed up with the massive parity that exists in this country in terms of wealth. Absolutely no one should have 100 billion dollars. There has to be some sense in the world. Hopefully we can get some when the old clowns go out to the Pasteur.

It’s hilarious though. Blaming us and saying we deserve because of “zomg socialism” when in fact we’re all dealing with DECADES of legislation from YOUR GENERATION...

    Irony.

Rest assured, my generation isn’t going to solve it. Most people are morons. But your generation certainly was a problem, not a solution. So thanks for your empty sentiment based on a meaningless platitude.

The so-called "honesty" of the environment is about being honest with yourself. It's political. There won't be environmental reform until everyone is treated the same on that issue, the U.S., China, and third-world countries, et al.

I've seen the U.S. ALREADY make great advances in the environment since the 1970s. And it has economically cost the U.S. dearly to do that, costs passed on to consumers.

Hopefully, we won't break an arm patting ourselves on the back.

Some of our worst pollution, we eliminated by exporting it to third world countries.

Here's what happens with your "recycled" electronics:

Meanwhile, Chinese folks run around with masks over their faces to keep pollution at bay in their bodies.

I'm retired a good while now. The future can't be controlled. The past couldn't be controlled -- just consider the humongous, concentrated effort to control the outcome of the 2016 election that utterly failed.

There is some limited control over the present. I'll settle for that.

They'll throw the sod oe'r me soon enough, and the future worries above grade and grass can't worry me.

I hope there are no more polls when you're dead.

Once that net is dropped, if it is, no more freedom is possible.

It is more than that. This is the same old playbook used by socialists in the past. Places like Cuba and Venezuela were taken over by socialists and look how the people are suffering there. At the start socialists turn people against each other using class envy. Once the people are divided it is easy to promise answers to the made up ills of society. Socialists promise a utopia that cannot be achieved to gain power and wealth. You end up with Cuba or Venezuela.

That is hilarious. You think social security programs are responsible for American prosperity. Congrats comrade.

Didn't answer my question, did you? Are you banking on SS to cover some of your expenses in retirement? What about Medicare and health care?

As to your question, yes, I think that a free market economy with a STRONG social security network results in the best and most productive economic outcome, including prosperity. Examples abound around the world, but I know you want to focus on Venezuela.

LOL, your side controls all three branches of government, the SC and a lot of state legislatures, and you still cry about commies? Talk about snowflakes.

After working and paying into SS and such I deserve to collect. Of course you probably think free loaders should too.

LOL! The above post is why I will gladly join the chorus of lefties yelling for free stuff after I quit working. It will be my pleasure to watch those ingrates suffer to pay for others.

Voters choose their fate. If gullible folks choose the liberal path to socialism they will suffer. It is that simple.

As expected, you deserve government paychecks, others you deem less worthy do not. Typical RW individualist thinking.

Has it ever occurred that in old age you may get into a predicament when you'll use more government benefits in a year than you have paid in your whole life? It happened to my dad, and he was a (compassionate) conservative. He almost became a liberal afterwards. If that happens to you (and I hope it won't) you may change your stance too.

LOL! I deserve it because I have paid into the system for several decades now. Of course I will take all the freebies I can get. The question is do future generations deserve to suffer because they are gullible enough to fall for socialism? After I retire I will watch with glee as the young rubes get what they deserve.

You are talking about the eventual collapse of the economy, and collapse of government.

Today, when businesses are taxed to pay for free crap and entitlements, those business expenses are typically passed on to the consumer. Eventually, the consumers will want free crap themselves instead of working hard to pay for it. Your first clue should have been when Obama's economic stimulus fell flat after introducing Obamacare in 2010.

    That leads to the collapse.

Of course it will lead to collapse. I wonder how many lefties believe the free ride will last forever? I believe it will decline over time. Politicians seem to manage decay so it occurs slowly. If it happens too fast people will notice and likely vote them out.

I am glad to see President Trump show how an economy can prosper with tax cuts and deregulation. He has made fools of the experts. If young people see this success and still choose socialism then they deserve what they get.

We are in the midst of a culture war. Who controls any branch or state at this time is immaterial to that war.
