The actual opinion is on whether or not they can. A given religion or denomination does get to "choose", for lack of a better word, and that really even goes on down to the individual congregation level, since many claim a given religion but deny others who have claimed it as not being truely so. In this case you are wrong, as he is not talking about the civil or legal marriage, but marriage as seen by the different religions.
Would not doing what they did not want to do moreso contribute to their unhappiness? If they don't want to marry, which would make the unhappy; marrying or not marrying. The same question applies to having children.
One of the problems here is that you keep using the word "church", which indicates that you are thinking only within the Christian framework. Wicca is a religion which allows for same sex marriages, as have other religions and socities throughout history. And yes there have been churches that have performed same sex marriages before laws were passed. They never signed paperwork because a civil same sex marriage was not legal. But plenty of churches will also perform opposite sex marriages without the paperwork as well. They simply make it clear to the couple that theirs will be a religious marriage only and not a legal one. In answer to you final question, at the risk of repeating myself, a same sex Wiccan couple are religiously married if they choose to do so before the Goddess. This is only one possible religion.
Its just that you quoted this post in your post: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...t-gay-marriage.512210/page-18#post-1069359719 I thought that you were saying THAT question is useless. Otherwise I can't see why you quoted that particular post.
Actually that is true. There is no law anywhere that prevents a religious body from marrying a couple, or even a poly unit, withing the eyes of their Diety. If there is, please present it.
No, Max I dont see My comment stands because its true Gay marriage is a right imposed by a handfull of unelected judges on the supreme court so it makes no difference what the people think
Why would choosing not to marry lead to unhappiness? Women have lots of women friends who they can share their lives with. Women are much more open than men. Women can have wonderful relationships with men without marriage Why is having fewer children leading to unhappiness? Do you really believe that having children is what fulfills women? Guess you don’t understand the Ledbetter bill. There was so much evidence that they had to pass the bill. Do you really think they don’t research bills in the committees? When one out of six women has been sexually assaulted that is a lot of unhappiness. You don’t have to be sexually assaulted to be sexually harassed. How would you feel if men made comments to you when you just walked in the street.? How would you feel if men told you how hot you look. How would you feel if men massaged your shoulders without asking? Or grab your dick?
Marriage is a right period or it is not. Either the law applies to all with no gender components or the law does exist. Technically, by the 14th amendment, I, as a male, have a right to obtain an abortion should I ever get pregnant. Regardless of how unlikely it is, the law is not supposed to discriminate on the basis of gender or physical sex. The court did not impose a law on anyone but upheld the 14th amendment by declaring any law that discriminates illegal.
I don't support government involvement in marriage at all. I have held this position since long before the left switched sides on gay marriage, back when they didn't want a bar of it.
Rights are not absolute Society can an must set limits on human behavour Before the courts got involved gay marriage was not enacted by popular consent in any state But the unelected lawyers on the supreme court overruled the collective wisdom of the people and declared gay mariage a right
Certain women decide to focus 100% on their career. They probably don't even think that it might make them less happy than if they had a family.
I am talking more of a long term likely, in a historical sense. As of now none of that stuff will happen. But in 50 years a hundred, it will depend on how things develop. Telling the future is easy easy, getting it right is hard. Our Constitution has protections for Religious freedom, but as anyone that has followed the history of our nation those protections can by systematically eroded. A fine example would be the Patriot Act and our rights to privacy. That is why we must be eternally vigilant and be prepared to fight over the smallest attack on our freedoms. Because it takes just a chip in a window to cause it to crack all the way through.
Certain men focus 100%on their career are they less happy than those women? I don’t know any women or men who, focus zero on their families...if so, they should be unhappy....extremists don’t see gray only black and white
The being of light of NDE fame also has given some intriguing information on this question. Chapter 10: http://www.allaboutchristian.com/spirituality/ ...... This all seems to fit with the Sermon on the Mount to my thinking: https://www.near-death.com/experiences/notable/christian-andreason.html#a11
No they can't. No, it depends on Christ and His Father, and nothing in the Bible indicates that either countenances insanity in any form.
