Appeal to popularity and appeal to faith fallacies!
Ironic since your proclamations about Islam are wrong. It is possible to find similar passages with the Christian god demanding the rape, pillage and murder of neighbors in the bible.

You can make whatever charges you like but since you cannot logically substantiate them they are fallacious and thus irrelevant.

Would incarceration statistics work for determining who is "good" and who is "bad"?

Because those are people who have been convicted of crimes by a jury of their peers.

So what percentage of atheists are behind bars compared to their percentage of the population as whole?

Not surprising to learn that less than 1% of federal prisoners are atheists.

Does that make atheists more moral? No, it doesn't!

What it does is tell us that criminals are more likely to embrace religion because it is a means to hide their true nature.

So statistically speaking there are less "bad" people who are atheists and more "bad" people who exploit religion.

Given that metric who is more likely to be trustworthy if you had to choose between an atheist and a theist?

Maybe theists should dial down their own fear of being wrong instead?

This thread has been so very interesting with so much theist bashing, it's been a popular online sport for many years that everyone just loves to watch......:sleepy:

Don't know why people feel the need to do so but then again if I knew why Trump blew up on Twitter over everything I just might understand it. If people want to discuss if theist or non theist are right make a darn thread in the actual part of the forum intended for that.

As for the OP, Trust has many factors and what a person believes only matters to me in the sense of if I think they are a bigger risk in a noticeable way because of it. If not then it has nor should what a person believes have anything to do with trust. The only people I naturally don't trust are those that believe every word they are told from the government, school, church and so on without questioning it.

For me, what a person believes has a great deal to do with it. Consider how the atheists have argued here. They have completely avoided the topic the OP raised and seems to impute their goodness to the mere fact they are irreligious.

The less said about our other disputant the better. He wants me to believe him honest when he can't even honestly address the issues raised but has to instead distort my statements. His level of intellectual dishonesty is rare, even among the denizens of PF.

Neither example of atheist induces me to trust them more.

I guess that most people trust people who are like themselves and distrust people who are different. I don't distrust people who are easily led as you seem to.

I do distrust the sort of leftist branded SJW, as they have been known to inform on and start smear campaigns against anyone expressing a non-PC opinion and think it virtuous of themselves to do so.

Are SJW's atheists? I suspect so. And they proceed with a religious zeal equaled these days only by Islamist extremists.

OK, the following is my view on God, Devil, Atheist, etc.
There is no God nor Devil outside of Man ad Mankind. We are ALL Gods within our own right; we have the power and ability, normally' to change our environment, our world (life), our universe (who we are and our drive(s)). Now for Atheists, it is impossible for you to not believe in God, because you believe in yourself, at least I hope that you do. As for religion, I have none that people currently know as religion. Are there certain behaviors that I do often, you bet, so in this aspect I have religion. I just do not believe in Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, etc. I cannot wrap my mind around something floating in the Universe (The Great Vastness) visiting Earth to save anyone or anything; that is wholly left up to Man and Mankind. If you do not save yourself, you will not be saved. As for life after physical death, I do not believe in that either being that it is unproven, so it does not exist. I do not accept theory as fact. I could go on and on, explaining certain things, but I will not. Suffice it to say that I am to a hearsay believer like confusion is to an argument; knowledge is the key that opens all doors, some I wish I kept closed, some I am happy to have opened.

The emboldened and underlined statement is as real and honest as can be.

No valid choice, my answer is "neither." I trust neither more than the other. There are many charlatans who disguise themselves as religious, and there are good (although misguided) people who are atheists.

Thank you for that. I am afraid it is a politically incorrect idea, though. It argues against diversity.

What, after all, are 'religious people'? In most cases, outside the 'States nowadays, the majority of them are trying to be better and watching their step. To say you 'believe in' a 'god' can mean innumerable and often incompatible things.

    I'm an Atheist.

And all I took from your response is "I just got owned and I don't like it".

You can't respond to the video because it totally disproves religion and the Bullshit that is Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism and every other ponzi scheme.

You can't explain the humanoids that predate humans in our evolution because it disproves your religion. You can't even go anywhere near this video.

It undoes your every belief and you know it.

Have religions been used to control others? Have religions been used to manipulate others for the gain of some? Yes they have and still are. For those who follow and believe, it may give them purpose, for those doing the controlling, it is a tool, mush like most other things to control and herd. Although I do not have a religion, never had and never will, religion serves a purpose for many, giving them meaning and a "shoulder to cry on" or a staff to lean upon. I just wish that people would put that trust in themselves. Yes we all have flaws but life is about learning from your flaws and building yourself mentally to overcome those flaws, in turn making you and more perfect you. That is correct, I used to word perfect, for we are all perfect in our stated of development. To me, it is completely unjust to compare yourself to another as the example of perfection forever. We all have our learning curves, so at some point, we will no longer neither need a "muse" nor a rod and staff, for we become the muse, rod, and staff ourselves. Learning is a growing experience, and experience is indeed the best teacher.

Ned Lud offers a highly intelligent point, "What is God?" A God is simply, that which has force and power, so every animate thing, that crawls upon the ground, flies in the air, swims in the waters, is a God in its own right, it is that Man and Mankind have the highest intelligence and ability to fashion, create and change our reality(ies). The other life forms cannot to the extent that Ma and Mankind can.

I dont trust people who start opinion polls on forums.

Actually all people have been untrustworthy to some degree at some point in their life. I know this is a bashing thread so I don't care to get too deeply into it.
We all live our lives and deal with similar daily issues, how we do that is up to each person. I could never pin one group down for a characteristic.
To not trust an entire group of people ( for whatever reason ) is plain and simple... a personal issue

Even if one group of those people believe in an old white man up in the sky controlling everything and that the Earth is 6000 years old?

Are you seriously even thinking this out or just typing what feels good?

Ahem . . . I will tell you this, what I know from history before your time, those humanoids, let us just say, do not represent the origins of neither Man nor Mankind. Did they exist, yes they existed, but they only existed in one particular region of this planet. Without going into detail, that is bound to anger many, suffice it to say that they are not representative of anyone's origin. You can believe all that you please, but as I stated before, knowledge is the key that opens all doors and the door you are seeking to open, you do not want opened.

Im typing out what I know and see over and over....and over. lol

If you were referring to people who steal money from poor people then claim to have weekly religious study...you would have a valid point.

...but you aren't. You don't like people who believe in things you don't and label them untrustworthy.
Where do you get this old white man in the sky crap, I think that's Odin.

    How could you sir?

It erases all your religions validity as well as every others.

Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, +++++ are all shams meant to rob you of the contents of your wallet.

My trust has to be earned which is much easier than getting it back. I couldn't care less what others label themselves.
