That is the equivalent to saying it is the victim's actions that are responsible for his hiding behind a tree, not the guy with the gun pointing at him. Do you contemplate what you write, or does it just come rolling out?

I am puzzled. I sincerely thought your next post would start with "I misspoke. What I meant to say was...", followed by a clarification. Never expected you to double down on it being the healthcare system's fault that a patient would have to change doctors when their doctor retires.

I don't know you as an unreasonable fellow, so I'm completely puzzled as to what it was you were trying to say with that post.

Maybe if I went slower: if the medical coverage system causes the doctor to retire then it is the medical coverage system that forces the patient change his doctor.

That makes no sense. Why would the medical coverage system force a doctor to retire? Unless they have already made so much money that they couldn't care less. And that, on top of that, they have some sort of "fixation" against everybody receiving medical treatment. If that's the case, I just don't think that denying people medical treatment just so we don't hurt a doctor's "feelings" is a reasonable parameter by which to decide any sort of policy.

In a dream world it probably wouldn't. In a real world thousands of doctors will retire and change avocations with anything like Medicare for all. Thousands won't, and thousands of also-rans will jump in to fill the gap -- none of which changes the fact that the patient was forced to change doctor because of the new system.

Why? Other than the reason I gave before.

In any case, that would be their decision. Not the healthcare system's. Obviously if your doctor refuses to see you, it would be a good idea to change doctors.
