    So did the Democrat I worked with...

    I'm sure a lot of Democrats voted for Johnson, but the point is that you did not vote for the Republican nominee which is what Republicans did. You voted against the Republican nominee AND the Republican party. That's not what Republicans did.

    I'm a card carrying Republican and Trump is the Republican president. Like all the other members on Team GOP I voted for our Republican president and I support him. You didn't and you don't. You're not a Republican - you just play one on the Political Forum.

    Trump doesn't attack Republican leaders and lawmakers every day like you attack the Republican president every day. Only Democrats like you do that.

    I worked in politics for a long time, and the most dangerous thing you can do is lay out an actual plan. By every measure people do not plan unless there's an existential threat, but that doesn't really exist in American society. By producing a thoughtful, detailed plan, you are giving me the ability to tear it to ****ing pieces, and then instruct whoever I'm handling to hammer you on the probable consequences of your plan.

    Can you name a single piece of legislation that fixed, or at least attempted to fix, a major problem in American society presented by Democrats since 1950?

    So what? Do you assume that others do not have knowledge beyond your own? Pump the breaks on the ego there buddy because I doubt that you are impressing anybody other than yourself.

    Social Security, sorry, not limiting my response to 1950+. Frankly I would be hard pressed to name anything the Government has done to fix a major problem no matter the party. From my POV Government often makes a bad thing worse.

    I assume, rightly, that geography is not America's strong suit.

    Interstate freeways, ensuring equal education for minorities, expanding veteran benefits, balancing the budget, privatizing Social Security, a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, expanding entitlements for the elderly, financial reforms to protect consumers and investors?

    Oh that's right, all Republicans.

    Yet I bet you couldn't name 3 cities in Namibia without a Google search.
