Trump is an idiot. He could have invited them to a beer summit and addressed their concerns.

Kneeling represents reverence and fealty. Pity that you and Trump don't know that.

That's what kneeling has always represented. We just have a lot of ignorant Americans these days.

    Is this disrespect?

Congresswoman Frederica Wilson was riding in a limousine with the soldier's widow, Myeshia Johnson, and her family to meet the casket at Miami International Airport when she overheard the President's call and what she described on Twitter as his "insensitive comments".

During the five minute call, Wilson said, Trump told Johnson that her 25-year-old husband 'knew what he signed up for... but when it happens it hurts anyway.

    Not in this case

Kaepernick said it was to show disrespect for the flag and the country

Do you have an audio of the call?

Probably not or you would have posted it

    So this is just hearsay

Well apparently Trump has, but has not released it. What a surprise? Are you one of those Trump supporters that says so what if he did say it, he's just telling the truth?

And this link contains a video of Miami-Dade Commissioner Barbara Jordan saying she heard it too.

Nothing insensitive about that. Of course they knew what they signed up for. It would be more disrespectful to say they didn't, implying the soldier was an ignorant idiot and his own stupidity got him killed. When you sign on that dotted line and raise your right hand, you need to be prepared to lay down your life for your country in a foreign land. And yes, knowing that, it still hurts.

    Nothing wrong with Trump's comments.

Saying he knew what he signed up for is a compliment, saying he knew the danger but was courageous enough to do it anyway.
