Would you care to share in detail precisely how this is supposed to happen?

I saw that, but I am suggesting that you go all in and give the US a rest for the next few generations. Fair is fair.

And when you do, will you stop caring about the results of our elections? Cause right now you're obsessed ;)

The red dragon(China)? So, we're seeing an alignment between China-Canada and the other European powers, is that it? How effective this is, will largely depend on France's upcoming elections in a few months. It's highly doubtful that the UK will join the Chinese-Canada bloc. Unless the UK wishes to dissolve the special relationship between the US-UK. The US-Japanese relationship also exists and I hope will persist.

If France elects Le Pen and her National Front, then it becomes the US-UK-Japan-France on one side, with China-Canada-Germany and the other EU bloc countries on the other. The ME will largely be an intermediate player. Israel will continue to be on the US side(which I have mixed feelings about) as a joint venture with the neo-cons. Meanwhile, Iran and her proxies will continue to assert influence in that sphere as well as Saudi Arabia.

The possibility exists for a merged Muslim world, once one of Iran or Saudi Arabia is defeated. The winner will most likely be able to create a new Ottoman Empire, provided that it allies itself with Turkey. At best, the US might have the United Arab Emirates. It'll be up to the US to ensure that the new ME power is a secular one(or as close to secular as possible.) A power unifying enough and strong enough. We had hopes this would be Turkey, it is unfortunately not so. And the UAE lacks the political sway and influence and power.

Jordan has become one such moderate country, but precisely because of its moderation it might not be able to truly unite the ME world that only knows force. Perhaps it will take an economic strategy where we enable the prosperity of the UAE, Jordan and Israel(regrettably), while phasing out the extremist cult of terrorism that is promoted by the Iranian/Saudi faction.

If Israel could live up to its promise as a truly western-oriented country in the ME, then it would be a positive development. But we've learned over the years that Israel will never(ironically) be as Western and as inclusive as the US, much less the EU. But as a proxy state at least, it holds some value(insofar as it doesn't backfire as being seen as 'backing Zionism').

Perhaps the best approach would be to have a resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and to start with the utmost demand of the freezing and ultimately dismantling of settlements which are a violation of INTL Law. The US has all the leverage, as while Israel is a mere client state of the US, the US is Israel's lifeblood. If the US postures, Israel will eventually cave. This will promote Israel gradually becoming more western, the moderate Palestinian factions getting their own country and extremism losing its one avenue to propagate.

The US(or at least I) had hoped that our venture and hand to the East, did not mean the breakup of the European Bloc. I view it with great disappointment that Europe chose to go elsewhere. As a result, the desired East-West merger didn't happen, with a few allies to the East but we lost some dear Western friends.

That's a great idea. Why don't Canada accept every liberal into their country. There will be so much love to go around , cakes baked for everyone, men women and children peeing together in harmony . Wow, Canadian utopia.

By being a positive liberal voice in a world that is slowly going crazy. This is an important year. There is a lot of elections. If most of them go right into protectionist populism the world is pretty much (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. We need globalization, and we don't need to turn inward and only care for ourselves. When we only cared for ourselves the world became a game of battleship.

I wonder what percentage of Canadians actually believe such twaddle. If there is much of a percentage then Canadians under the fascist control of their leftist government have gone even farther than the U.S. in trashing their educational system. Actual history no longer being taught? So it does appear.

Clearly Canada leaves that and military defensive and Offensive stuff to others as well! Surely you didn't think Canada was really burdened with all that monetary responsibility like real countries, did you? It's one thing to ride on the backs of BIG dogs, live off the health of the BIG dog, but stuff gets real, real quick when you become a BIG dog! Then you have to carry the weight of the body and support and protect those constantly sucking life's blood while contributing very little!

So in the event of a real war you propose to toss quiche pies? Yes . . . that will impress the hell out of -- say -- ISIS.

Yes we noticed that. It's all leftist news BY LAW and those people with dissenting opinions or perspectives get . . . punished. Well . . . fascists will be fascists.

If we do a 360 we will be exactly where we started.

Sad but true, nobody will listen to you if you don't have military might.

If I was a Canadian I would keep a low profile until one way or the other Trump was out of power.

Trump people are already threatening you guys with a trade war similar to Mexico and US war Plan Red from the 1930s called for a poison gas attack on Halifax follow with a many fronts invasion that we still could dust off.

If you make up lies you would lose your job, get sued and get barred from writing any mainstream publications.

Yes. Trumps transition team already said Canada is not immune to tariffs. As Justin said he won't be afraid to speak his mind to trump if the time came.i expect it to be very rocky.

I say go for it. You can solve the Iranian nuke problem, the ME problems, the terrorist problems, and best yet, you can spend trillions fighting global warming and put your citizens through hell doing it. And what are you going to do with Putin, put sanctions on him? But wait...I see your comment doesn't have Canada spending the kind of money we do, but you probably won't do that. Like most liberals, you'll decide where to spend money and then tell someone else, America, to cough it up.

True but still not even the Lah-Lah Land of Gurus and Hot Tubs called California is so messed up in the head as to think that they could become not just A but THE world power by simply wishing it so. Do under-educated Canadians even know how much money we pour into the military on a yearly basis to help keep THEM and ourselves and the West in general free? Do they think that you become a world power simply by declaring yourself one and that you back off enemy nations by offering to toss a quiche pie at them? I can't believe that the average citizen of Canada is that utterly clueless in regards to how the world actually operates.

Canada is such a nothing country that many Canadians have to look to the USA to discuss politics, wishing they were Americans themselves .
