There are no gods-humans made them up to explain stuff that they were too primitive to understand. It follows that there is no such thing as sin-except in the minds of those who need a mythical crutch because they are too dumb to make their own life work without instructions.
And some people are so simple they dont see the obvious right in front of them. Everyone had equal rights already. Just because Marriage didnt include single people or same sexes in no way means it wasnt offered to them. "Equal rights"..lol, only the simple fall for that one. Will you now take up the fight for all the single people right now who are being discriminated against?
it's relevant in the fact that it seems the cry for "equality" only applies to the end of your nose.... that it's somehow "bigotted" if I didn't support the expansion of the definition of marriage to include you being able to marry your gay lover, but when you don't support your accepted definition of the word Marriage to include polygomists, or siblings (or cousins, or father/daughter, or son/mother, etc).... all of a sudden, you become a supporter of your definition of traditional marriage. is it not popular enough a movement for you to support yet? It's 2 consenting adults, right? Maybe if we make a cool hashtag for you to piously promote to show how good a person you are like #lovewins, or #ssm How about #siblinglivesmatter? So please.... entertain us.... Do you support marriage equality for incestuous couples? If no, are you a bigot for not supporting "marriage equality" but your avoidance of the issue speaks volumes about it. And you can't justify why "equality" only applies to the groups you favor, even though you are quick to throw out the "you're a bigot" whenever Christians did not support SSM
It's relevant because you and yours have now redefined Marriage to be something everyone deserves, and on their own terms. If the definition doesnt include them it must now be changed if we are to stay consistent. Surprised you would not see it immediately, and have to ask.
No, marriage remains exactly the same. You still need a license and all the other bureaucratic stuff that goes with it. Nobody has "redefined" anything, and your ability to get married has not been compromised in any way whatsoever. Quit whining about sibling marriage when it hasn't even been mentioned as a remote possibility.
again, you seem to think "marraige equality" only applies so you and your gay lover are included.... and screw the incest and polygomist crowd huh? how does it feel to be a bigot? After all, if I'm a bigot for not supporting you and your gay lover being able to marry, you are a bigot for not supporting me and my sister from marrying. #siblinglivesmatter
Sorry, but your absurd 'logic' is lost on me. The bigotry, by the way, rests with the 19th century-mindset conservatives who are terrified that something which is basically none of their bloody business is apparently going to destroy the very fabric of your society, and who tried everything in their power to prevent gay marriage becoming legal. They lost.
My marriage doesnt have to be impacted for you to have redefined the institution, which you have. Now by that same criteria, anyone is entitled to a "Marriage" that fits their wants. Brother and Sister? You bet. Husband of 6 Wives, certainly.
No. Sibling marriage exists only in the minds of those like yourself. You don't like gays and lesbians getting married? Write your congressman and complain. I'm sure those gays and lesbians couldn't give a flying (*)(*)(*)(*) what you think, frankly.
Sorry, but this "Marriage Equality" loses a bit of it's luster once one realizes it wasnt really about anything but allowing Gays to hijack the institution. Marriage Equality would champion the Brother and Sister, and the Dozen people who want a multi Marriage. I knew this was what it was all along, and said as much. Thanks for validating.
"not our problem" ..... the battle cry of gays everywhere. I thought it was about #lovewins and #marriageequality. Guess it was really about #agenda and #WhateverIsSociallySupportedI'llChampion when your morallity is based on how many likes you can get on FB and how many retweets on twitter, I guess you have to wait to show your support for #marraigeequality until a movie star champions it first
The issue at hand (actually it's over the extreme right is just in full freak out mode) is same sex marriage equality. It has nothing to do with incest, polygamy, beastiality, pedophilia, necrophilia, or any other variation that the fringe right try's to equate the cause to. Feel validated all you want - the movement was about same sex couples being able to be treated the same under federal and state law. Do you take offense to racial equality because it was blacks that were using that phrase, gender equality is about women, ect - feign revelation all you want - you people are so petty.
so, because you can't/don't want to address the hypocracy... you ignore it? funny you don't mind trying to compare gays to blacks, but the difference between blacks and gays, is blacks have genetic proof they were born black. Gays and incest can't prove they were born attracted to same gender, or same family.
Think of it this way, without Gay Marriage, they would never know the joys of Gay Divorce and all the financial heart ache that goes along with it.
Well with heterosexuals having almost a 50% divorce rate, one would think a TRUE conservative would concentrate on that rather than gay marriage. However, that is not the case as demonstrated here in this thread.
you think conservatives can only have one concern at a time? I hate that divorce rate, too. I'm allowed to be concerned with both. In fact, if you care to join my divorcerate thread, offer up some suggestions...
Oh please are you seriously trying to say the majority of conservatives rally against divorce like they have with SSM? I didn't think so. So yeah cons play lip service to divorce but don't try to regulate like they have with SSM.
There is no hypocrisy, the issue is about SAME SEX Marriage. Was the civil rights less so because they were not advocation for the third tribe of Alaskian Inuits? That is the correlation you are trying, and looking like a fool, to make. Prove your religion please (oh you can't, no more religious benefits for you, gotta pay taxes and keep your hate speech to yourself), prove you are a heterosexual (oh you can't, no more wedding cakes from bigot bakers or access to see your spouse in the hospital); and you people keep arguing that gay is an action not a state of being - so if you want a gay to "prove it" that's your issue. Ask for evidence for all I care
well, they would if divorcees were trying to shove their lifestyle choice down non-divorcees throats and demand they accept their sins....
