Only the sub intelligent would celebrate a complete nutbag like Katter actually gaining political power. I vote we let QLD secede. They really are an embarrassment. To quote one of their finest political minds, "Gee golly gosh, my goodness gracious"

Katter is right wing on social issues.

Australia is a Christian country. Non Christians should (*)(*)(*)(*) off.

Immigrants are nasty people. Foreigners should (*)(*)(*)(*) off.

Homosexuals are disgusting. Homosexuals should (*)(*)(*)(*) off.

Yes. I know that but my main point is that Efjay is laughing about how the left is done for when a party with the most left wing economic platform got the highest increase in voting numbers.

If these people were looking for right wing social issues, they are already parties that cater for that but none that are socialist.

Yeah, Katter's economic policies are so left wing that left wingers don't want anything to do with them.

I don't live in Queensland, I couldn't care less. ALP has been in govt for what... 14 years? Probably time for a change, shame they didn't get anyone good though.

And er... the Libs have gotten as low as 3 seats before in Qld. In fact, the Libs had to merge with the nationals just to survive, after having struggled for decades.

The rest of Australia just shakes their heads in bewilderment at Queensland. Pauline Hanson, Bob Katter, Kevin Rudd, Barnaby Joyce... quite a collection of nut-jobs they're producing up there.

It's just sad that efjay thinks the Australian party is "right wing", probably based on the gay bashing ad. ALP is much more right wing than Australian party on economic policy. Looks like you've been had efjay.

Glad to know you support action of climate change proposed by AL GORE, lol.

Subsidising ethanol has got to be the stupidest policy on climate change I've seen yet. I still can't fathom how anyone can be so stupid as to think that subsidies and renationalising power industries is "right wing" and a market based ETS is "left wing". efjay is constantly ranting about how we should nationalise banks, nationalise energy industries, etc. How bankers and the market are "evil", etc. Earth to efjay, you are left wing! And so is the Australian Party!

Yeah, it is funny. Efjay calls the ALP communists even though the ALP is currently JUST centre left with many of their policies edging over into centre right.

The real kicker, is that efjay believes a policy that John Howard took to the 2007 election, ETS with an initial fixed price period, is a "communist" policy.

And subsidies for ethanol (proposed by Al Gore) and re-nationalising the power generation, banking and mining sectors is "right wing".

Whatever goes on inside efjay's head, it's certainly not critical thinking.

And which party is currently saying that welfare payments are too low?

The AL............. oh wait, the Liberal Party. Yeah, the ALP is communists with their welfare should be low while the Liberal Party is a staunch opponent of socialism.

Would you like to give a list of your bigotry inspired ocupational restrictions? Alternatively, if you can give us just one sensible reason why an ex serviceman should be excluded from politics, a very small portion of your shredded credability could be restored.

Perhaps you need to change your political leanings if you want to see your dole cheque grow?

So it now looks like the qld greens lost about 1 % of their previous vote ( 0.8 last time i looked ) and the swing against qld alp at I think about 15%.

To address a few silly points from last night.

Yes KAP has SOME left wing policy but OVERALL is a right wing party.
Of course KAP had the biggest increase in vote...only a dumbass would bring up such a stupid point!

    My main points stand
1 The greens vote and the vote for the left was DOWN dispute the bleating of a few here.
2 There WILL be federal implications for the greens and ALP come the next election.

"OVERALL is a right wing party"? Bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

He is AGAINST FREE TRADE, he is PRO PROTECTIONISM.

Certainly MORE LEFT WING than the ALP.

It's a frickin LEFT WING party. It's just a left wing party that is anti-homosexuals and a bit racist.
