Seems to be the usual scary headline to get clicks. Yes yes someday in the future this may happen. Not scary.

 

I believe you are misinformed. The GOP is the leader worldwide at doing nothing about global warming. The GOP is also the world leader in corrupt lobbyists and swampy corporate garbage....

 

I just put down what we are doing for the environment. Did you over look it? Do you think we are going to do away with cows, airplanes, ships? Try and build a sky scraper without steel. They sure can stop using all glass buildings though.

 

I would say that is the very distant future. Hydrogen fuel cells have some very basic problems. One of which is getting the hydrogen to start with. Like all such conversions, it requires more energy to separate it than you can get out of it. Hydrogen would have to be under tremendous pressure to carry enough of it to get the range most people want. It takes me back to the Hindenburg which used all hydrogen for lift. Likely, it would be safer to make the vehicles nuclear than to use hydrogen. I can just imagine having the local filling station refueling all those hydrogen vehicles. Everything from explosions to people freezing their hands off when a bit of that very cold hydrogen gets on them.

 

Only the GOP propaganda machine goes on about that kind of scary stuff. Of course we're not going to do away with any of those things. Market forces run that kind of stuff.

 

I can attest to that, having been involved in product design. There are psychologists and marketers, artists and accountants, in addition to engineers and scientists, consultants of every kind. Even the organization of a company, all its intricacies and internal workings are often the result of the efforts of people with degrees in subjects that may seem unimportant to those who don’t know enough to know.

 

I have been part of product design also. There was not a single person on the team that was not an engineer or at least had a very technical knowledge of the subject. Likely they might have talked to someone else, but they were far from being an integral part of the design. I would say that depends very much on what they are designing.

It seems that the only place hydrogen cells work is in Iceland. There they have excess accessible geothermal energy from which to power the process to separate out the hydrogen. The island is small so long distance driving is not an issue.

Electric. Ehicles work well in a narrow band of supporting infrastructure. Remote areas and cold climates are both the enemy of electric vehicles. That’s why, electrics will find their way into cars and the smaller the better. SUVs and trucks will lean towards hybrids.

But the product inception, the early meetings typically involve marketing or other such strategy guiding persons. I’ve also worked with Industrial Designers, who tend to be concerned mostly with aesthetics. And I have sat in meetings, where the psychological effects on competitors and customers were taken into account.

There is a science behind ergonomics that is often in the realm of psychologists, sociologists, and physiologists. Even patents are often just applied for, for appearances. For the psychological effect on others. It even gets more specialized in high volume, high stakes consumer products. In the end though, it was always an engineer who put pencil to paper to turn the product idea into a buildable physical reality.

That is what killed Chrysler Corporation. The accountants that ran the company didn’t think engineers mattered. That is until they discovered that without good engineers, everything turns to crap.

Obama brought in Russia and Iran into Syria before Trump ever got elected Steve by trying to take out Assad. Did you forget that? When Obama brought our troops in they were only supposed to be there a couple of months. How long has it been 5,6, 7 years now? If you remember it was one of Trump's promises when he was running to bring them home. Turkey had around three million Syrians that fled to Turkey to get away from the fighting. After most of the fighting was over with ISIS, Turkey wanted to ship them back to Syria and set up a 20 mile safe zone they demanded the Kurds to go to give the Syrians a place to live. It also moved them from the Turkish border where they have been fighting for decades. Trump had no right to stop Turkey. They are a NATO Allie and we're not going to start a war with them over what they wanted to do. Trump warned Turkey not to try and wipe the Kurds out or he would bankrupt the country. Of course the Kurds didn't want to move, they controlled some Syrian oil fields and didn't want to go. So fighting broke out, the Turks got to violent and the V.P, went over and worked out a cease fire and convinced the Kurds to move. It's worked to a large degree, although both sides are still fighting a little. But considering the Kurds and Turks have been fighting each other for decades and they are now mostly over the safe zone and the Syrians are moving back, it pretty much worked out for the better. The heavy fighting only lasted for less than a week.
