What’s in your link is the Dems voted against it in Committee...which highlights why the votes weren’t there in the senate

So are suggesting that Cohen is lying about lying :)

How about this, is there anything that Cohen said is true. I mean, are you also suggesting that there is nothing that can be confirmed about what Cohen has stated.

Actually, derivitives were spared from regulation by the wizardry of GOP Senator Phil Gramm. For some reason, he is revered as a financial genius by the GOP, especially Wall Street and the oil patch. He has mining paper profits down pat! Gramm was the principal architect of the Commodities Futures Modernization Act, which was the wellspring from which derivitves eventually grew.

He followed that up with the Gramm Leach Bliely Act, which opened the door for big Wall Street to gamble in those markets.

Don't confuse them with facts. The man in their AM radio has been telling them that Barney Frank is the villian. Of course, they always hated him for being outspokenly gay, too.

The acceptable method of discussion in this forum if for the opposition to support their position. If you think @rahl is wrong, it is incumbent upon you to substantiate your position or your post may be considered to be an irrelevant and novel opinion.

@rahl is the only one on this page that I see to have provided a link supporting his position.

He made two claims. The first he’s yet to support and the second, I do agree he provided a great link highlighting the GOP introduced legislation, the House passed their version but couldn’t get through the Senate. Largely due to party line votes

LOL. The ACA is the brain child of the Republicans of the 1990s.
Obama just had the guts to put their plan into place.
And since then, the R's have adopted it and made some changes to it. But did not repeal nor replace it.

No need to make up what my link shows. Everyone can clearly see that every single attempt to regulate fanny and Freddie was killed by republicans.

When the stories about Russia began to surface, I had my doubts.

I was a bit concerned. I knew who Paul Manafort was, and who his Russians friends were before Trump named him campaign manager. I remeber being very perplexed at the time. It was no secret around Washington that Manafort is a shady operator with Russians friends, so he would not be the logical choice for anyone to pick to run a Presidential campaign.....except taht he was Roger Stone's former business partner.

And when Trump listed his "foreign policy team" to the Washington Post, we learned about Papadopolous and Page; or, rather, wondered who these nobodies were.

The long catalog of intelligence intercepts of Trump officials talking to Russians, and Russians talking to others about the Trump campaign leave little remaining doubt that HE REALLY WOULD BE THAT STUPID!!!!!

Not to mention the relentless incompetence and buffonery that is the Trump Presidency.

That's true. I opposed both of them at the time and lived to see my worst concerns realized.

But they were principal products of the GOP Congress.

Clinton was President and his administration fought against Brooksley's warnings and won. The facts are the facts.

Democrats were against the Hagel bill to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and some democrat votes were needed to pass the bill.

You didn’t provide any. I gave you a laundry list of bills the republicans killed between 2001-2007, which would have regulated fanny and Freddie. You have not provided a single citation showing those bills didn’t exist, or that republicans didn’t kill them.

    Sure you did.

The Times reports that senior officials at the FBI say they began investigating whether Donald Trump was a Russian agent because he fired their boss. And the Times thought that story reflected badly on Trump?

Played? No, he lived up to the agreement, something Trump has failed to do on several occasions as he destroys our standing in the world. He should have negotiated a better deal before bowing out of that treaty since Iran is now back in the nuclear business. What a joke by the great negotiator and his tariff fiasco has resulted in countries turning away from us and making trade deals with others.
Of course, our prices for goods have risen and business is moving out due to high costs. Oh he has to bail out the agriculture industry, yes? I bet you opposed Obama's bailout of GM, but you are ok with this bailout, yes? Then his insidious shutdown and dissing of government employees to satisfy his ego. This guy has no conscience, no empathy, and no moral fiber. What he does have is a dose of narcissism, and a personality disorder for sure. Obama was played? No, you are being played.
