Trump is entitled to manage his administration in his own way

But its not good when democrats seek to cripple the nation using chaos directed at a president they wish to remove

Do you know what that bill was?

How long would that CR have funded the portion of government involved?

    Any idea?

Yes certainly he can manage his own administration as he wants to, and he's been doing that. He's been getting away with behavior that's been unchecked because he had a weak Republican House that bent to his will rather than do their jobs and behave as an equal branch of government. Now there's a balance of power and he's going to be a bit more restrained, which is how it should be.
I'll repeat once again, Trump has nobody but himself to blame for chaos.

Before you demonstrate knee jerk bobbing of the head after reading your lefty friend's comment you should consider that the number of illegals dropping from 12.2 illegals per year to 10.7 hardly means we have effective immigration control.

The fact that immigration control sucked 10 years ago (over 12 million illegals per year) and sucks to a lesser degree now (over 10 million) does not mean we have effective immigration control.

12 million per year for the past 10 years?

That would mean there were 120 million illegals in the USA at the very least. You need to realize that this type of exaggeration and pretense is what makes people laugh at the antics of the far right and why you always lose in these discussions. Learn to post the truth and some day you might possibly win one of these debates.

It was presented on December 18th and would have funded the government until February 8th.

Waste of money, that's not gonna get very far. Just another reason why unions should be kicked into touch.

You're obviously young and have no history to relate to when it comes to unions. It really wasn't that long ago that inequality was a way of life before unions. Men, women, and children too were forced into labor just to survive. They received no medical insurance, no vacations, no health care. Nothing was given away by the owners of the various businesses. Conditions of employment are radically different than during the turn of the 20th century's transition to an industrial society.

Without unions, we would all still be working for that same dollar a day wage while the owners and stockholders would pocket all the rewards from our labor. At the most basic ideal level, unions provide benefits to the employees and to the community in general. Unions provided another avenue for enforcing regulations and safety standards. Yes, some unions are bloated and can become very stagnant in how they handle things, but it's not an indictment of the union system as a whole.

    Do you consider 51 young?

From my experience, unions are one of the worst inventions.

Did you know, there's no harm in you being an owner and stockholder. Those who aren't often whinge at those who are.

Yes I consider 51 young. If it weren't for unions in this century, people would be injured in work and there would be no compensation. People would never be paid a fair wage, enough to exist on. If it weren't for unions there would be no such thing as a 40 hour work week, or medical leave, maternity benefits, paid health insurance, vacation and sick time, annual pay increases, etc. The purpose of a labor union is to raise the standard of living of working people. That’s really all there is to it.

Of course, anti-labor propagandists and disinformation purveyors such as yourself, like to pretend that unions are cesspools of greed, corruption and ineptitude, and that the only things they care about are consolidating power and collecting monthly membership dues. That’s the rancid version of unions they try to peddle. Unfortunately, many unsuspecting people actually believe it. Without unions, it’s a joy ride for Corporate America. Corporations are not only worshiped by Congress, but virtually every industry in the country, from bottle cap manufacturers, to cauliflower growers, to guided missile makers, has lobbyists representing their interests.

Ah. There's a big difference. Obviously you're employed whereas I'm self employed. So what you've just posted, sorry to say this, it's laughable.

40 hours a week? 40 hours self employed perpweek is classed as part time. And after doing double that, many 40 hour per week employed people are on more disposal income. If you are employed, you honestly don't have a clue.

I owned a business with over 150 employees for 20 years. What's your point.

What is the point of a Federal employees Union? The employees can't strike and the benefits are not exactly negotiable. I see that the AFGE is wailing about the shutdown. Maybe they should ask the Dims to provide 5 Billion for a wall.

Government employees got paid last Friday, and unless it runs for another week, they haven't missed a single paycheck yet.

I believe that per US law (National Labor Relations Act) strikes against the Federal Government are defined as an unfair labor practice. The practical reason is striking employees will be fired as Ronald Reagan demonstrated with the striking air traffic controllers.
