"Weapons of war" is code for banning all guns. Of all my guns, only these two are actual "weapons of war", note they are not "AR-15s" nor do they have removable magazines:

Correct me if wrong, but didn't congress ban them a few years ago and it must have run out, as it had a time limit on the legislation?

Now personally while I support the second amendment, it would not bother me in the least if these lookalikes were banned, unless they banned the larger magazines and limited magazine size to something around 5 rounds. I would certainly ban these bump stocks. You wanta play war, join the military.

While I hate these assault looking rifles it isn't the rifle that is the problem but the large capacity magazines. Make the mass killers change out magazines, that is, make em work harder to do their killing. Might also give someone with a gun, a chance to take the killer out.

I blame the popularity with these macho rifles on Hollywood. It appeals to the testosterone boys, and makes em look bad, or tough. It makes them appear to be special forces, and they can pretend they are killing radical muslims when they bust their bottles or hit their targets. The only thing different between men and boys...is the price of their toys. I believe this fully, having felt that myself long, long ago. Before I had to shoot other human beings, and then getting the fire returned as they tried to kill me. That will clean up your act and playing war right quick like. Or it did it for me and others I know who served in a hot war.

So yes, I have a very piss poor attitude when it comes to these lookalike assault rifles. And yet I love traditional hunting rifles, finely made, high quality rifles and shotguns and even handguns. I see no need for these assault looking rifles, and their large capacity magazines. Hell, if you can't hit your target with one shot, two at the most, you need some time on the firing range. And these rifles have given guns an even worse image.

And what gripes my old arse is anytime you hear a faux liberal talk about these guns they will always call them automatic!! And talk about them as if they were exactly what is used in the military. And surely no one is that stupid, so they try to fool the faux liberal voters, who don't know which end the round exits from.

 

Nothing like labeling law abiding citizens as freaks.

 

It most certainly does. Proposing to limit what arms apply and their capacities encroaches on those people's right to keep and bear weapons of their choice.

Are you suggesting our government should be able to limit legal arms to only a 22 caliber pistol?

 

An assault weapons ban would be a good start.

 

Gosh, I have some of those rifles Nazis used during WWII. Bet the left would want to double down on military weapons and claim owning a rifle stamped with Nazi chickens is racist!
