Except that wasn't the point. My message was in response to the question of why plastics were not listed as products of crude oil refineries. The answer is because plastics are not products of crude oil refineries. This is really not difficult to understand, and I am not going to waste time explaining this to you any further.
There are more than enough Pro-XL Dems in the Senate to overcome any pro-Obama veto idiocy the rest of them try, in regards to Keystone XL.
Ayuh,... Donno who you Think you are, but I could give a $*** what you think,.... I responded to the quote that I quoted,.... Plastics are derived from crude oil,..... This thread is obviously the product of two merged threads,.... It don't read proper, but if You can't figure it out, 'n follow along,... I guess it's time for yer afternoon nap,.... Yer stressin' over nothin',.... Get over it nitwit,....
The Repub Borg will need at least six Dems who prefer to think for themselves to make it. I think they can get close, but I don't think they can make it to 60. It might also depend on how the Senate handles the proposed amendments by Schumer.
I find myself in a rare position that I agree that the pipeline right now seems like a waste of resources for a variety of reasons. Strategically- we should be trying to import as much oil As possible and burn through everyone else's resources first. Keep ours as a strategic reserve should their be a day when demand far exceeds supply. Economically- oil prices are extremely low right now, better to wait for a time when they are clipping that 100 a barrel mark. Environmentally- yes there will be spills and breaks. It's practically inevitable.
Some believe in advancing the Cause of the fusion (an energy with a future) sector over the fossil fuel sector.
it wasn't the Teamsters that shut down Hostess, they had a not that bad contract. it was the baker's union. the IBT knows better than to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
13-17% of anything is a big chuck of change when you're talking about a trillion dollar industry. Uncle Sam makes more off your gas tank and furnace than anyone in the chain of supply...and does the least for it. - - - Updated - - - Obama's necessarily skyrocketing electric rates are!
what subsidies? a mugger missing the twenty tucked behind a photo and throwing your wallet back isn't a gift.
Well, what is stopping you? If you have some extra money, find a company that is researching fusion energy and invest in that company. Are you letting the wealthy pick and choose what should be researched or are you willing to risk your own money to advance what you believe in? The research for fusion power, if it is ever to be feasible, will not happen by itself.
Yes, simply due to the scale economies involved. We simply need a Manhattan Project for fusion to happen in the US, in eight years or less.
Government involvement likely does just as much harm to the effort by deterring commercial competition, as it does good in providing economies of scale.
So you are okay with it as long as you are spending someone else's money. But for you to put your own money into it, well that is something different altogether. And you have contempt for entrepreneurs, those who make innovation happen, and big corporations who will take huge risks on projects like undersea intercontinental fiber optic cables. But your dollars? Nope. They belong to you and heaven forbid that you actually risk any of those dollars on something you profess to believe in.
You seem to be a few pence short of a shilling. Why does the right only complain when it is about the least wealthy under our form of Capitalism? We went to the Moon and back with the (other) Peoples' money. Socialism already beat Capitalism, in case you missed the memo.
Yes to these: — Require U.S.-produced iron, steel and manufactured goods “to be used for the pipeline construction, connection, operation, and maintenance.” It’s another familiar measure that senators like Markey and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) have offered. — Restore funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program to levels authorized in the 2009 economic stimulus bill under the condition that seniors and veterans get first priority. — Prohibit a state from permitting a foreign corporation to invoke eminent domain. This addresses a key part of a case that will soon be decided by the Nebraska Supreme Court on the legality of the state’s approval of a route for the pipeline there. “Many Republicans have raised serious objections to the use of eminent domain by local American governments, and unless they believe the authority is less troubling when exercised by a foreign company they should vote for this amendment,” Schumer and Stabenow wrote. ....the fact that we are letting foreign corporations use eminent domain to seize private land in the USA to build a massive private project that has little to no public good, is disgusting and must end with Keystone.
It's amusing to hear liberals pretending they're opposed to eminent domain. Since when does a leftist object to the government taking anything, from anyone, for any reason? It is equally amusing to watch the Democrats try to stop progress without Sen. Harry Reid to hide behind. They will actually have to obstruct progress out in public view now.
Eminent domain is in our supreme law of the land. Some on the left only declaim, and sometimes decry, the lack of seriousness from the right, regarding the social concept of equality regarding the terms, "to raise money for the general welfare". They don't seem to apply it equally when it comes to wealth under our form of capitalism. It is almost as if the right understands we won the Cold War on a platform of we get what we pay for instead of the best Things in life are "free".
I have my copy of our Constitution here in front of me;; where do you find that quote?? Do you think that your handler is thinking about these words ? - - "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States;" I thinking that free internet for all isn't what they were thinking when they put that in there. If you want to look at equality you might read this Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, The Constitution calls for equal taxation not a progressive tax like we have now. What are you talking about?? 0bama can be removed and blocked from any further profiting from his office. Judgment in Cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
Why do you believe it is not self-evident from Article 1, Section 8? - - - Updated - - - It is ok; you don't need a clue or a Cause when reading my propaganda and rhetoric.
