Florida passed new gun laws

I can not get into my boys high school without pushing a buzzer and stating my purpose for being there. Same with the school my wife works at. Us hicks in Iowa can implement such a system, can not be that hard.

 

A vast majority of criminal acts with a firearm involve handguns. Not many with 30 round magazine weapons.

 

How about the same requirements to vote?

we should not let violent felons possess guns, unless they have gone a long time being crime free.

we should not let folks guilty of violent misdemeanors or DWI possess guns, until they can go a few years without committing crimes.

we should not let severelly mentally ill people possess guns, unless their doctor is willing to certify that their patient is safe with guns.

 

some of the anti gun types are going to create a chilling effect on people seeking treatment for early stage mental illness because these gun banners want such conditions to disqualify someone from keeping their weapons. SO people who are still rational enough not to want the police seizing their weapons will forego treatment and thus we will have more people really sick in the population

 

if someone loves their guns more than their own mental health and even survival, that's their cross to bear.

our job is to make sure people are SAFE and of sound-mind, if they want to possess a gun.

Due Process means you can immediately appeal any gun seizure or loss of gun rights, and such actions are done through a legal procedure approved by a legislature answerable to The People.

I hear this silly argument from the uninformed anti gunners all the time. The recent shooter in Florida only carried 10 round magazines. Given the number of magazines currently in this country that carry more than ten rounds (literally hundreds of millions), how the hell do you think a new law will suddenly make them all disappear?
As for revolvers, who need more than one to do massive damage,

Liberals don't care about guns and magazines killing an inordinate number of people, if they did they would direct their rage at drug usage first. In cities with a record of high crime it's drugs causing the gun violence and it is well documented that it is centered in a few small pockets if a few select cities in this country.

With bleeding heart liberals it's all about hating the self reliant individual which is a word never understood by any leftie I have ever met.

BTW, my fingerprints are on register as a condition of my Florida carry permit and has been a requirement for years.
