Most of the children Israel killed on Day 1 of Cast Lead were killed walking to and from school and in their homes near police stations and government offices which were unlawfully targeted.

Israel chose to start Cast Lead in the middle of the day and during final exams when school shifts were changing, maximizing deaths to children in Gaza.

Complete and utter freaking nonsense, once again the UN defines ethnic cleansing as: "rendering an area ethnically homogeneous by using force or intimidation to remove from a given area persons of another ethnic or religious group." Israel proper alone has a nearly 30% Arab population and this population and the populations of the West Bank and Gaza have exponential population growths. There was never any ethnically cleansing of the Arab Palestinians or the Arab Israelis, some villages were sacked and their residents expelled by force, however, there were no orders or systematic plan on behalf of the Jewish Agency or military hierarchy to ethnically cleanse the Arabs from the mandate, Benny Morris found that out of 228 empty Palestinian villages, that in 41 villages the inhabitants were expelled by the IDF; in 90 they left because of attacks on other villages, in six they left upon orders from Palestinian authorities and in the remaining 46 it is unknown why the villages were abandoned.

And by walking to and from school you mean being used as human shields by Hamas who had taken over full control of all police and governmental facilities.

lol so now daylight bombings are some how intended to maximize civilian casualties? Abject freaking nonsense, and btw can you provide your source that states that Gazan schools start after 11:30 AM? That's complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*), schools start much earlier if anything the timing of the attack was intended to minimize civilian casualties as all of the children would be safe in schools and all non-terrorist adults would be at work.

The story of how Israel killed 5 sisters in cast Lead

At around 10:00pm, on Sunday, 28 December 2008, electricity was cut to the Jabalia Refugee Camp, located in the north of the Gaza Strip. The nine children in the Ba’lousha family were all at home with their parents at the time. Their house was located next door to the Imad Aqel Mosque, in the centre of the densely crowded camp.

The sound of jet aircraft and drones could be heard flying overhead. ‘We could hear explosions and were all terrified’ recalls 35 year-old Samira, ‘I told my girls to go to sleep to relieve them from the tension.’ Samira also went to her bedroom which she shared with her husband, Anwar, one year old son, Mohammad, and their 13-day-old baby girl, Bara’a.

Several hours later, at around midnight on Monday, 29 December 2008, a missile struck the Mosque, destroying it completely and damaging the surrounding houses, many of which had asbestos roofs. ‘I woke and saw the roof and walls of my house falling,’ recalls Samira, ‘I did not realise what was happening.’ Samira then lost consciousness.

‘When I woke, I looked around and could only see dust. I was covered in stones and sand; I could hardly breathe. My husband Anwar was also covered in stones and sand. I then heard the screams of my baby daughter, Bara’a. I started removing stones from my body and managed to stand up. I rushed over to where the cot was and started to remove the rubble. Bara’a’s cot was upside down and formed a kind of protective tent. I picked up Bara’a and passed her to Anwar, whose face was covered in blood. I then looked for Mohammad but could not find him. A wall had fallen on where his mattress had been. I then heard Mohammad screaming from under the rubble and started to dig him out. When I found him his head was covered in blood.’

Samira handed Mohammad to a rescue worker and then went in search of her seven daughters. ‘I went to their bedroom, but there was no room, all the walls had collapsed. The room where my girls had been sleeping was not there. The ground was covered with wood, stones and asbestos. I started to scream.’

A neighbour helped Samira to an ambulance and she was taken to Kamal Edwan Hospital to be treated for her injuries. It was whilst in hospital that Samira was informed that five of her daughters, Jawaher (4), Dina (7), Samar (12), Ekram (14) and Tahreer (17) had been killed

From DCI Palestine investigation of first name of children killed in Cast Lead in list of 352 children Israel killed in Cast Lead

Once again the Jihadists regularly use children as young as 14 as suicide bombers and child soldiers so it is impossible to know whether or not that is the case in the majority of these deaths.

They are human beings, do you dispute that fact, Zionist?

And all of these deaths of children have been documented by multiple sources, to include Israel's own human rights group named Btselem.

    - - - Updated - - -

The children were unlawfully targeted by The Zionist State, the killings are war crimes under The Fourth Convention.

Suicide bombings stopped many years ago in Palestine, Hamas called the practice off in 2005 or 2006.

There were only child massacres and civilian massacres by The Zionist State during Cast Lead.

More abject nonsense the Jabalia Refugee camp is and was a major Hamas stronghold, they were staging attacks from that camp and using it as a base of operations, they were using those civilians as human shields, the use of human shields does not make one immune from attack and in fact the war crime was Hamas operating out of a dense civilian center.

Abject (*)(*)(*)(*)ing nonsense, Hamas didn't call anything off, the suicide bombings stopped because they couldn't get past the security barrier, and my point is that Hamas and the other Jihadi groups put guns into the hands of children as young as 14 so without further details your source is essentially meaningless.

    Complete and utter horse(*)(*)(*)(*).

Ya they just all happen to be Muslim and Arab to the last, just a coincidence, absolutely nothing untoward going on there at all, completely unbiased independent observers.

B'tselem is a far left propaganda mill, the details of the deaths are not provided so it is impossible to know whether or not they were being employed as human shields or child soldiers which is a well documented tactic of the Jihadists groups.

Complete and utter horse(*)(*)(*)(*), you have not provided a single scrap of evidence that they deliberately targeted children, the only war crimes are Hamas using children as human shields and employing them as child soldiers.

Human rights groups investigated the killing of the 5 sisters and addressed how they were killed, in an unlawful targeting of civilians.

DCI Palestine is a branch of an international child human rights organization.

Amnesty and Human Rights Watch and Btslem and many others investigated these unlawful targetings of children and civilians.

Why do you defend Israels cold blooded killings of innocent children and civilians?

Hamas in call to end suicide bombings

    Conal Urquhart in Gaza City

The Observer, Saturday 8 April 2006

Hamas is to abandon its use of suicide bombers, who have killed almost 300 Israelis, in any future confrontations with Israel, its activists have told The Observer.

The Islamic group, which leads the Palestinian Authority, says, however, that it may resort to other forms of violence if there is no progress towards Palestinian statehood.

Yihiyeh Musa, a Hamas member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, said Hamas had moved into a 'new era' which did not require suicide attacks.

'The suicide bombings happened in an exceptional period and they have now stopped,' he said. 'They came to an end as a change of belief.'

As Hamas toned down its rhetoric, Israel increased pressure on the Palestinians, particularly in Gaza. Two militants were killed in an airstrike near Gaza City yesterday and five men and a five-year-old boy were killed on Friday night.

Each day hundreds of artillery shells are fired by Israel at northern Gaza. Palestinian factional tension is also high and the price of commodities such as flour and sugar has more than doubled as a result of Israel closing border crossings....

It is a Palestinian propaganda mill once again your source is lying through omission of the facts that this camp was a Hamas stronghold and they were violating the laws and customs of war by using human shields and coordinating, directing, and conducting attacks from this densely populated civilian sector. In fact here is the video evidence that Islamic Jihad and Hamas were storing their rockets and launching their rockets out of this camp:

In fact it's even worse than that Hamas even used a UN School in the camp as cover to fire rockets and mortars into Israel:

The al-Fakhura School incident refers to a military strike that took place on January 6, 2009 outside a United Nations-run school in the Jabaliya Camp in the Gaza Strip.[4] In response to militant gunfire believed to be coming from al-Fakhura, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fired at the school. Israel reported the death toll as 9 Hamas militants and 3 noncombatants.[3] According to UN and several non-governmental organizations (NGOs), 42 people were killed, 41 of them civilians. Senior IDF officers said that the death toll published by Hamas was "grossly exaggerated", and that Hamas was inflating the number of casualties.[5]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Fakhura_school_incident

Hamas fired mortar shells from a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in Jabalya before the IDF retaliated with aerial bombing that killed Hamas terrorists as well as children, according to an initial IDF investigation.

"Amongst the dead at the Jabalya school were Hamas terror operatives and a mortar battery cell who were firing on IDF forces in the area," the IDF said. "We face a very delicate situation where the Hamas is using the citizens of Gaza as a protective vest," according to IDF spokesman Brig. General Avi Benayahu.

But thanks for you bull(*)(*)(*)(*) propaganda.

Abject bull(*)(*)(*)(*) none of the above have stated that Israel intentionally targets children, you are lying.

    I don't but you're lying.

The casualty figures are highly contended, even Hamas rejects them. There was serious over counting due to the fact that Hamas ordered its fighters not to wear uniforms and they were counted as civilians when in fact they were combatants.

America, that bastion of Communist-hating 'democracy and freedom', continued that policy of aiding Communist genocidists. I couldn't give a flying f*ck about the political colour of the incumbency doing it.

Introduction Amnesty Report Cast Lead 22 Days Of Death And Destruction

Israel/Gaza: Operation "Cast Lead": 22 days of death and destruction

“Until now we don’t understand why. We want peace; and we want an investigation; we want to know why me and my sisters have been orphaned. Why did they kill our parents, our family?” Fathiya Mousa, whose parents and siblings were killed in an Israeli air strike while sitting in their yard (see Chapter 1.1.2).

At 11.30am on 27 December 2008, without warning, Israeli forces began a devastating bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip codenamed Operation “Cast Lead”. Its stated aim was to end rocket attacks into Israel by armed groups affiliated with Hamas and other Palestinian factions. By 18 January 2009, when unilateral ceasefires were announced by both Israel and Hamas, some 1,400 Palestinians had been killed, including some 300 children and hundreds of other unarmed civilians, and large areas of Gaza had been razed to the ground, leaving many thousands homeless and the already dire economy in ruins.

Much of the destruction was wanton and resulted from direct attacks on civilian objects as well as indiscriminate attacks that failed to distinguish between legitimate military targets and civilian objects. Such attacks violated fundamental provisions of international humanitarian law, notably the prohibition on direct attacks on civilians and civilian objects (the principle of distinction), the prohibition on indiscriminate or disproportionate attacks, and the prohibition on collective punishment.

Hundreds of civilians were killed in attacks carried out using high-precision weapons – air- delivered bombs and missiles, and tank shells. Others, including women and children, were shot at short range when posing no threat to the lives of the Israeli soldiers. Aerial bombardments launched from Israeli F-16 combat aircraft targeted and destroyed civilian homes without warning, killing and injuring scores of their inhabitants, often while they slept. Children playing on the roofs of their homes or in the street and other civilians going about their daily business, as well as medical staff attending the wounded were killed in broad daylight by Hellfire and other highly accurate missiles launched from helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, and by precision projectiles fired from tanks.

Disturbing questions remain unanswered as to why such high-precision weapons, whose operators can see even small details of their targets and which can accurately strike even fast moving vehicles,1 killed so many children and other civilians.

Scores of civilians were also killed and injured by less precise weapons, such as artillery shells and mortars, and flechette tank shells, which can be accurately aimed but which disperse thousands of deadly metal darts at great velocity over a large area.

White phosphorus, a highly incendiary substance, was repeatedly fired indiscriminately over densely populated residential areas, killing and wounding civilians and destroying civilian property. It was often launched from artillery shells in air-burst mode, which aggravated the already devastating consequences of the attacks. Each shell ejected over a hundred felt wedges impregnated with highly incendiary white phosphorus, which rained down over houses and streets, igniting on exposure to oxygen and setting fire to people and property. Once their incendiary content had been discharged, the artillery shells often crashed into buildings causing further deaths and injuries. Repeated denials of the use of white phosphorus by Israeli officials during the conflict delayed or prevented appropriate treatment for people suffering agonizing burns. Some who died might otherwise have been saved.

Artillery in general and white phosphorus shells in particular should never be used in populated areas.2 Yet in Gaza Israeli forces repeatedly fired them into densely populated residential areas, knowing that such imprecise weapons would kill and injure civilians. Such attacks were indiscriminate and as such unlawful under international law.

The scale and intensity of the attacks were unprecedented, even in the context of the increasingly lethal Israeli military campaigns in Gaza in previous years.3 More Palestinians were killed and more properties were destroyed in the 22-day military campaign than in any previous Israeli offensive.

Israeli forces could not conceivably have been unaware of the presence of civilians in locations which were repeatedly attacked, including with white phosphorus and other imprecise weapons, given that these areas were under close surveillance by Israeli drones.

Even though Israeli officials knew from the first days of Operation “Cast Lead” that civilians were killed and wounded in significant numbers, Israeli forces continued to employ the same tactics for the entire duration of the 22-day offensive, resulting in growing numbers of civilian casualties. The pattern of attacks and the resulting high number of civilian fatalities and casualties showed elements of reckless conduct, disregard for civilian lives and property and a consistent failure to distinguish between military targets and civilians and civilian objects.

Thousands of civilian homes, businesses and public buildings were destroyed. In some areas entire neighbourhoods were flattened and livestock killed. Much of the destruction was wanton and deliberate, and was carried out in a manner and circumstances which indicated that it could not be justified on grounds of military necessity. Rather, it was often the result of reckless and indiscriminate attacks, which were seemingly tolerated or even directly sanctioned up the chain of command, and which at times appeared intended to collectively punish local residents for the actions of armed groups.

Ah yes, is that the same UN whom you sneer at and deride when they pass Resolution after Resolution condemning illegal Israeli activity, and which you now quote as an authority on ethnic cleansing? Learn what 'hypocrisy' means.
I also notice that you managed to contradict yourself within one paragraph. Sheer genius!
So, expelling an indigenous population by force from innumerable villages is both ethnic cleansing and not ethnic cleansing? I don't give a f*ck what the 'official' policy was; it happened.

Give us a break, in 6 they left because of orders from the Palestinians and that would be 'run for your life they are murdering men, women and children and raping our women'. Deir Yassin was intended to get people fleeing in this way. Force and Intimidation par excellence. I seem to remember Benny Morris thought that was the main strategy made, some massacres and rape to terrify the rest. People left with keys in their pockets and were against international law not allowed back to their homes. It was ethnic cleansing. This is documented in Plan Dalet and was further found to be true from archives which have since been removed so historians cannot look at them further.

I agree Israel did not expel all her arabs and possibly that goes into the psyche of those arranging it but nonetheless it does fit in with ethnic cleansing. Israel appears to have had some fear in expelling Christians and her desire was to make sure that her state had a Jewish majority. It was a crazy idea. As has been argued by Morris would have been better expelling them all then as she has had to keep on the go since.

and of course inside Israel itself though this is moving into the apartheid argument

One of the most important things the Palestinians say is necessary for peace is honesty about the Nabka.

If Israel refuses to be honest for reconciliation. The Palestinian State can take this with other things to the ICC.

You are lying, the human rights groups all confirm Israel targeted civilians in Cast Lead.

The majority of those killed in Cast Lead were civilians unlawfully targeted by Israel.

I can take the name of any child on that DCI Palestine list of child fatalities in Cast Lead, read their investigative findings of killings that identifies the majority of the killings as unlawful, and find similar investigative findings made by Btselem and other human rights groups such as Amnesty and Human Rights Watch making the same findings.

Abject bull(*)(*)(*)(*) snake, the U.S. never provided, funds, arms, or training of any sort to the Khmer Rouge, the most the U.S. ever did was abstain on a UNSC vote regarding the Chinese invasion of Vietnam which was a direct response to the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia.
