In order to placate a bully and avoid nuclear Armageddon, the Syrians are willing to surrender their inventory of chemical weapons. It is the Syrians and Russians who are the Masters.

And, my guess, according to the train of "thinking" exhibited by previous US regimes, is that nothing will ever be enough.
Anyone remember how the Libyans surrendered their chemical weapons only to have the USA & HATO rip them apart with bombs & cutthroat terrorists?

It's because of Putin, the only leader who knows WTF he's up to in the region. We either (*)(*)(*)(*) them off for no real political effect or replace a bad but friendly regime with a terrorist state. The Russians said they will protect the sovereignty of Syria. Whereas the USA/Europeans are in league with the Israelis and their Saudi counterparts to push Russia past the brink of nuclear war.

They want Russia to chicken out, and they are willing to let most Americans suffer and die from it, just so the arrogant war crazies can satisfy their insane lusts.
