How did telemundo come to that number? What was their methodology?

 

Attacking people and then attacking THEM for defending themselves is emphatically NOT self-defense. Not at law nor at morals

The guy who murdered the two people had approached them while carrying a gun in an openly hostile manner. Your right to bear arms does NOT include the right to intimidate others with it, for how do others know that you don't intend to shoot them and so feel they must act pre-emptively to save their own lives?

 

Nah, clearly they should have waited till one of their own were dead in the street.

 

Demonstrate this supposed 'openly hostile manner.' Carrying a gun =\= brandishing a gun.

 

How are militia violent? Neither you nor Wallace has provided any evidence for that claim.

 

I think its reasonable to presume he was talking about militia groups that have mobilized themselves, not 'the militia' as defined in US Code (tho you'd think someone as experienced, knowledgeable and intelligent as Wallace would have been more precise...). Which doesn't change the fact that the militia groups mobilizing to these areas arent initiating (and are for the most part very stoically avoiding) violence. The only way Wallace's question makes any sense is if he's referring to the looters, muggers and arsonists as 'militia'... which is technically correct only inthe sense that all The People are 'the militia'... but I don't think anyone is taking it that technically.

 

During a riot it might. A gun carried like that guy was photographed carrying it can be brought to bear in less than a second with probable deadly effect to anyone within 25 feet or even further

Look, if someone approached my driveway carrying an AR or anything like that guy had and I can't run I might very well shoot him and take my chances with the old "better judged by 12 better than carried by 6" shibboleth. It really distresses me how many gun advocates think their right to bear arms means they can just openly carry all kinds of firepower everywhere and our only defense is to adjust our bulletproof vests accordingly. Guns SCARE people and they SHOULD and scared people often fire their own guns first and be damned to the legal niceties..

Violence can include threatening violence. This has been long recognized at law. "Assault" is purely a verbal attack, it must include "battery" to involve real physical harm. Violence can include intimidation. Whenever you place one at reasonable fear of physical harm you do them violence, and that breaks the law.

 

Are you scared of people concealing guns? Statistically speaking, for every hundred adults you see, 1 of em is legally concealing, and probably another is illegally concealing a gun than can kill you and between 4 and 30 other people just as fast as the one Kyle was carrying...

But I'm betting you still go out in public regularly.

...which of course means you're only afraid of seeing guns.

Do cops make you similarly uncomfortable? Supposedly they been wrongfully killing a lot of folks lately...

Biden showed disrespect for the office he wishes to hold and an extreme lack of maturity. He should have never not even once called the duly elected president of the United States a clown and told him to shut up. By extension he called all Trump supports clowns while simultaneously saying he'd unite the country.
