And because they happen in the first 12 is just ok right? And you would agree that the late term abortions should also be acceptable right?

Because they are necessary for the existence of mind according to current neuroscience.

    Brain waves.

I think what makes up persons is the mind. The mind is in the cortex, not brain stem. So if the cortex is braindead, I dont think the status of brain stem should be relevant, it only controls basic vegetative vital functions, but does no thinking. Legal definition should use brain cortex.

You mean a breathalyzer test? Does the baby have to walk a straight line as well? :eyepopping:

So if you had a patient in a hospital that lost those brain waves for whatever reason, but were about 100% sure that they would return without any problem, do you pull the plug on them?

Mao, Stalin, Hilter, and Lucifer says ya do. What say you?

BTW: Lucifere sends his regards to you for choosing "blasphemer" as a handle.

If they can return, then their mind is obviously still there. So in that case pulling the plug would be murder. The brain death is defined as irreversible cessation of brain function. If its reversible, its not death.

Theoretically, if you had the ability to resurrect the dead some time after death, but someone stopped you, he should be tried as responsible for the murder of the individual that would otherwise be resurrected, even if he is already dead.

Hell proaborts would have pulled the plug long before that point. I doubt they would even fight for the life of someone who might not be perfect even if they lived.

That's not going far enough. Pro-aborts also want to remove all life support machines from hospitals. There is a plan in the works as we speak that will pull the wool over all the hospital administrator's eyes while pro-aborts, in the dark of the night, descend on American hospitals and remove all the machines that might save someone's life.

We're also planning on changing the name from Pro-choice to Pro-NOchoice. We will use the law to legislate that every woman have 5 abortions before being allowed to give birth. Those abortions will be paid for by a new tax on anyone calling themselves Pro-Life and their places of worship.

We hate anti-biotics, we hate pediatricians, and we hate all life everywhere. We are absolutely infuriated that we ourselves are even alive! It's horrrrrrriiibbbbiiiibbbbbllllleeee!!!

Our final plan though, is a real gem. We are going to invent a machine that will turn us all back into fetuses so we can all abort ourselves! We love abortion THAT MUCH!

Anyway, in a few years when it's illegal to be pro-life and we've thrown you all into Gulag style camps, you'll thank us. You will. We hate America, we hate children, we hate life, we hate morality, we hate everything, and we want to watch it burn. I'm sure those of you in-the-know as you are about what pro-choicers are and what they want and would do have already figured this out and are probably hastening your plans to emigrate.

Oh you were right about us, you were right about us all along. You've had it all figured out for a long time now, causing us to push up the date of the final act by a number of years. (*)(*)(*)(*) you clever pro-lifers who know us so well, what we're thinking, what we're feeling, what we want.

Mind is such a baffling concept!

British psychologist Stuart Sutherland once wrote: "Consciousness is a fascinating but elusive phenomenon; it is impossible to specify what it is, what it does, or why it evolved. Nothing worth reading has been written on it."

And you want to deprive individuals of their fundamental rights based on this indistinct concept!

When asked to prove this statement you failed. You also failed to respond to my evidence (from the Washington Post, the Bergen Record, and the executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers) which indicates you are wrong. Yet you repeat the statement.

This means you are a liar.

You lie in defense of an industry that tortures near infants to death.

It is easy to google the reasons for late-term abortion. Only on radical pro-life sites will you find ANY claim that women choose late-term abortions for trivial reasons. There are only a few late-term abortions performed, and it is reasonable that those parents choose late-term abortion for a compelling reason. Late-term abortions are more expensive and more dangerous than early abortions, so why would a woman wait?

    http://miscarriage.about.com/od/stillbirthlateloss/i/selectivetermin.htm

When prenatal screening and subsequent diagnostic tests return a definitive verdict of a condition with a less than optimal prognosis, parents may face the decision of whether or not to continue the pregnancy. These terminations are sometimes called medically based or medically indicated termination.

Parents may also end up considering a medically based termination when rare pregnancy or other health complications pose a notable threat to the mother's life if she continues the pregnancy.

My sources are not pro-life so again you are lying.

Many reasons. For example, she might have mixed feelings regarding abortion.

You should admit your error, or if you prefer you could continue exhibiting your indifference to the truth.

A non-pro-life site will not say that women have late-term abortions for trivial reasons, that is strictly a pro-life anti-woman stance.

Mixed feelings about abortion will not lead to late-term abortions. Women who are unable to bring themselves to have an early abortion because of doubts about abortion certainly won't be able to bring themselves to have a late-term abortion. Women have bonded with the fetus by late-term and won't choose abortion except for compelling reasons.

See my earlier posts which prove Abortionist Margaret Sanger was a racist who was financed by Republicans like Rockefeller, Prescott Bush, and Clarence Gamble.

Also remember that it was the right wing Republican party that rendered the Roe v Wade and Casey decisions which legalized abortion.

What a crock. Why are you making excuses? If its a woman's body….then you should be for late term abortion period. No questions asked…who cares if there is bonding. Bonding would be stupid to you really and you shouldn't even bring it up. For you to say that a woman can't bond with her child from the start….ridiculous.

So a criterea for life is that they must first bond with someone?

    Hmm?

No excuses from me. I support lack of legislation including late-term abortions because I know that women don't voluntarily choose late-term abortion. They don't choose late-term abortion because they bond with the fetus after some time. LOL, they can't bond with a zygote, they don't even know it exists.

Whether or not they would choose it does and should not matter….you feel it should be there…for those who do want to kill their child in late terms.
For you to tell anyone they can't bond with something shows your arrogance and smug worldview. The worldview…is emotionless, cold, callous, immoral, vile…..it is devoid of anything good.

    Nope.

It's a worldview minus the arrogance of people of a similar mindset as yourself who assume everyone else should adopt the morality and worldview of your choosing, usually with a couple references to God as a way of showing your imagined authority. Not interested, sorry. I find it absolutely amazing that you think so much of your own opinions that you would label the worldview of someone else as "emotionless, cold, callous, immoral, vile...devoid of anything good" simply because OKgrannie, and myself, would prefer reproductive decisions be left up to the woman doing the reproducing and not YOU who will have absolutely nothing to do with both her life and the life of her child after it's born. Such arrogance.

You're not hearing me at all.....no woman WANTS to have an abortion in late-term. NO ONE! Late-term abortions are performed because of dire medical circumstances. What is so hard about that to understand? If you do have children and grandchildren as you claim, you should know that much about pregnancy. Why do you WANT to think the worst of others, does it somehow make you feel you are better?

Everything is not always about money. I know a family which has 22 siblings all to the same mother and father. My old neighbours used to have 15 children. Both of these families are two of the happiest families I know. We are living in a material world were people want wealth and all the accessories and the perfect number of children. However this type of perfection is impossible. I think people had less before and were much happier than they are now. People are stressed about mortgages, jobs, the perfect house, the right car, t.v. etc, etc. Having abortions to ensure a family later in life, or having abortions to ensure you have the "perfect" number of children does not bring happiness. Life is always full of surprises and nothing ever works out as we plan. If a woman fdiscovers she is pregnant she should feel obliged to make sure that child lives in my opinion.

GEt this grannie…listen. Lets talk about law…and what the law should be. Based on the point you have made its a woman's body so who cares what you think? It should be legal for her to abort. And you have no right to say that…no woman wants a late term abortion. OH Gosh…I wish I could say what I want.
There are late term abortion clinics in America. Three huge ones closed just last year. Who got the abortions grannie? Men? NO WOMEN DID. AND IF THEIR HEALTH WAS AN ISSUE THEY COULD GO TO ANY HOSPITAL THAT WOULD HELP THEM. BUT NO THEY DO IT ILLEGALLY…YOU TELL ME WHY GRANNIE.

NO WOMEN WANT LATE TERM ABORTIONS….BULL….THEY DO AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

But you would fight for their right to late term abortion wouldn't you grannie…?

About thinking the worst of people….that is evident about people on this forum isn't it. Two sides…one who wants life and one who champions death. Your on that side….be proud of it grannie…embrace your position…unless you deep down know abortion is immoral..cause you are making one excuse after the next for late term.

They do NOT happen all the time. Statistics show .8% of all abortions are late-term. That's eight tenths of one percent. Reason should tell you that with so few of those abortions being performed that there must be a good reason for them. There are only a FEW doctors and clinics which will provide late-term abortions, and the most knowledgeable doctors are located at those few clinics, not at the local hospital down the street which probably won't do the abortion anyway. Late-term abortions are illegal except for life and health issues, but a few of those occur which make a late-term abortion feasible.
