What crime did Speer comitt? Serving his country.

In endeffect its meaningless anyways. Nobody of the important german elites got any punishment at all. They stayed imdustrials, judges, secret service leaders ect.

Thats a big reason why we could recover so quick and even surpass our pre war power in short time.

I actually have considerable admiration for Speer given what he was able to accomplish in not only maintaining but expanding German war time output despite the escalating level of attacks by the allies. And to his willingness to openly admit to his crimes.

That said it has been suggested that the Second World War in Europe lasted fully a year longer than it would have otherwise due to Speer's effect with the attending number of deaths during that year which is in the millions.

I've done considerable research into the causes of West German recovery after World War Two. Economics is a major interest of mine. And the defining characteristic of West German recovery seems to be the massive number of Germans who flowed into it after the end of World War Two. So many in fact that Bavaria's population actually increased shortly after the end of the war despite the heavy losses. People are a major economic asset. And the addition of millions of Germans, hard working and overall well educated was a major factor in German recovery.

    WE ?
It was West Germany and not you. Everything Eastern Germany has today was created by the hard working folks in West Germany and still is today.
You guys are just Trittbrettfahrer and it shows.

How you explain Eastern German fast recovery then? It suffered from communism but managed in short time to become richest country in eastern block.

And their "recovery" was more a case of west germans footing the bill...

Various reasons. Also IIRC as the Soviet Union considered East Germany a "showcase for communism" they plowed considerable economic assistance into it (after originally plundering it) just as they did for Cuba.

Not to mention it was no secret that West Germany both the government and regular citizens gave considerable aid to East Germany for obvious reasons (their countrymen and families).

I talk about the era between 1950 and 1985. Eastern GErmany was poorer than West, true. But the richest in the eastern block.

No it wasn't more advanced. The meteor set the first speed world record by a jet airplane in 1945 clocking 975km/h, way faster than the ME-262. That's 125km/h faster than the ME-262.

That's like saying that you are richer than your neighbor after finding a penny on the sidewalk...

Depends on who you talk to. The folks who developed the f 86 claim that the 262 could have broken the "sound barrier" and probably did during the war.

The swept wing alone makes the 262 more advanced.

Hmmm i wonder why Poland was so bad off? How about nearly a century of abusive treatment by it's neighbors.

Not really. And could've are meaningless. And swept wings were not a new thing. The first swept wing plane flew before WW1! There just wasn't any advantage before to use it.

Uranium is common on earth. Hell we had to close off villages for health reason in my province due to too much natural uranium present in the ground.
