Why didn’t you post the 2008/2009 unemployment rates. Which show where the Obama administration had to start from? Better yet show where Bill left it for GW.

They started from the 4.5% the Republicans handed the Democrats, including Senators Obama and Biden, January of 2007. The started with their claim their stimulus bill would hold that unemployment rate to 8% for one quarter and then rapidly fall. It totally failed and even Obama had to issue his pitiful "well those jobs weren't so shovel ready" excuse.

Nice try. But the direction kept going down and down from 2010 on. Only rising after our current leadership failed the country with inaction.

Yes facts are nice aren't they. And the fact remains the Obama/Biden stimulus, the almost $800,000,000,000 was supposed to hold it to just 8% and for one quarter and instead it shot to 10% and stayed over 8% for the next three years trickling down not because of Obama/Biden economic policy but in spite of it all the while the LFPR going over a cliff. To try and pretend that was some kind of success is laughable. It remains the worse unemployment record in modern history. And it rose this year because of government shutdowns not federal fiscal policy and has remarkably recovered and done so FAR beyond any expectations.

Calling it worse unemployment record in modern history is just outright falsehoods.

It's historically accurate when you consider the double digit numbers and sustained high unemployment rate, the falling labor force participation rate and falling incomes for those who were working. And Biden wants to bring back those same policies. It failed by their OWN GOALS.

Because unemployment has grown three percentage points and several million people are out of work.

Are you kidding? January 2007 was a full two years before Obama took office. This is what happened with unemployment:

I have a suggestion for you--learn what really happened so you can make constructive policy suggestions.

No, you're seizing on a claim made by some Democrats at the time and then generalizing incorrectly about what was really expected from the stimulus. Your words, as such, are nothing but propaganda.
    Pure propaganda.
It was created during the Bush presidency.

    upload_2020-12-31_8-21-52.jpeg
It also exists because many people aren't going malls, restaurants, bars, gyms, hotels, traveling, etc., and more virus circulating progressively cuts into these numbers. Blaming it all on "government shutdowns" is absurd propaganda.

I don't hear Biden talking about bringing back Bush Administration policies.

I refuted it, just like I've refuted a lot of the other economic nonsense you spouted. Doesn't matter--you keep pumping out propaganda.

Sure, we should get the $600 out the door and then get back to saving businesses, especially smaller firms, so we're ready to take off when we get enough people vaccinated.

    Nope but you can try

    Which did not happen 2008-2015?

It was OBAMA'S ecomonic advisers on HIS stimulus, are you now saying it was all propaganda? 8% unemployment for one quarter then a rapid decrease.

Nope we had 52 months of near or actual full employment under the Bush/Republican policies and they handed the Democrats a 4.5% unemployment rate.

As I said because of state and local economic shutdowns not because of failures of Trump/Rep economic policies and it has recovered FAR beyond what was expected and we are heading back to full employment numbers again unless Biden blows as he is likely to do going back to his failed policies of the last recovery and lack thereof.

Which is what he should be doing to get the economy back into full employment, rising incomes and and increasing LFPR.

It was the year he and his fellow Democrats took back the Congress and started passing their policies and lack of thereof of them to deal with the slowdown that began and then turned into a recession. don't even try to make the absurd claim that after 10 years and Pelosi and Reid taking back the Congress they then did Bush's bidding and passed his policies. They pushed him out of the way although he was able to negotiate them down on some terms when it came to the 2009 budget they cut him out completely.

Mitch is a fool. When it comes to money, people will vote for money, regardless of what party they are voting for. Even fiscal hawks will look better if they are voting for this bill as they can justify it as a single-issue legislation with no pork added.

This has been repeatedly refuted. I've given you every single bill from 2001-2007 that was proposed to try and regulate fanny/freddy, each and every one was killed by republicans. The great bush recession is 100% on republicans.

Why do you keep making stuff up? The unemployment rate was 7.8% in January 2009.

    upload_2020-12-31_14-27-30.png
Nonsense, the unemployment rate is leveling off. We're not headed back toward full employment until the new cases of virus are greatly reduced.
