GOP Won’t Include Planned Parenthood Funding in Spending Bill

Most of the money they get from the government does not come in grants. This is really small potatoes......but it should be doubled

 

The real point is that this is the type of issue Republicans push to distract from the fact that they do little about Abortion. They control both houses of Congress and no one even talks about a constitutional amendment against abortion. A party that was really strongly anti-abortion would have at some point in the last year. Instead they focused entirely on economic issues, which is what they care about.

Its a myth that the Republican party at the federal level cares deeply about abortion.

 

They should find an organization that provides the same non-abortion services (but not abortion) and fund them. Like say Catholic Charities.

 

PP PAC and PP are two completely separate organizations. Not a dollar from the tax payers goes to political contributions

 

Uh....they do. They fund LOTS of agencies to do birth control. But not catholic charities.....against their religion

 

Planned Parenthood shouldn't get a single penny of tax dollars, actually the only organizations that should get tax dollars are government agencies, we shouldn't be paying for private institutions at all...

Not against the law. The catholic religion does not believe in birth control.

 

I suspect most federal funding these days goes to states. They care out the operations rather than the federal government.

What are you talking about? They are a private organization, they can fund themselves or out of business and someone else can take their place, there is no need for government involvement at all. Just another example of liberals and the corporate welfare they want for their causes, in this case baby killing...

This is a catholic publication noting the federal government does fund religious organizations. I believe the fund Catholic schools as well.

Clearly Congress will have to stipulate that any federal monies cannot be used for organizations like PP or they need to cut the funding to those states...

 

Because they believe the funding ends up supporting abortion, by allowing PP to shift funds around. I am liberal by the way and oppose its funding.

 

Except they can't or they would already. Why do you think we have grants?

 

I would guess they do this already. What states can spend money on is almost certainly set into agreements giving the money.

No they don't. PP gets some grant money like 84 other organizations. They just cant use it for abortions

 

All you have to do is prove it and PP is shut down. They have been audited a thousand times .....and are still around

 

What do you mean by can't? If their business model can't support their operations they need to close down. There is no way PP is too big to fail...

 

How would you see this. If I get X money from an organization and Y money from another organization, and pay out the money how could know that the payment came from one source or another? Its not actually possible.

I get 50,000 dollars from the federal government. I use that to pay health care. I use money from other sources I would have spent for health care to cover abortions.

 

No you can not fund religious organizations or catholic schools. Catholic charities are separate from the catholic church

 

Then there would be no teen sex ed programs or the other programs they get funded by this grant. 83 other organizations get this grant besides PP by the way
