You posted opinion, and the trolling legislation won't survive appeal, just like every similar trolling legislation has been aborted in court.

His point is that if a woman doesn't know she''s pregnant until the 7th week, how can she make a decision on whether to
carry to term if she is already past the legal window? If she's got the money, she can take a "vacation". If she's poor, she
can take matters into her own hands or go to a back ally doctor ... so we're right back where we were before Roe v. Wade.

I suggest you read up on the reasons the Justices gave for their decision in Roe v. Wade. It had a lot to do with unequal
    application of abortions laws

The law has to be challenged, first. Do you know nothing? Similarly, do you expect that in Idaho that the federal district court won't uphold the law? More, do you expect that the appellate court would find similarly to the 8th circuit? You seem no really not understand how the federal court system works. Oh, and just for grins, if this is upheld in Idaho state courts, through their Idaho supreme court, whom do you believe is going to gain federal standing to bring the case in federal court?

I oppose the practice of abortion, but its fundamentally a moral issue and restricting it sets very dangerous precedent to the right of body autonomy. I see this playing into the hands of the mandatory vaxxers. Encentivizing alternatives to abortion is the proper way to fight abortion. Banning it is the lazy, authoritarian method.

    And you know this how?

    https://www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/miscarriage-rates-by-week#risk-rates

    https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...loss-miscarriage/symptoms-causes/syc-20354298

Most clinically apparent miscarriages (two-thirds to three-quarters in various studies) occur during the first trimester.[1][32][47][48] About 30% to 40% of all fertilized eggs miscarry, often before the pregnancy is known.[1] The embryo typically dies before the pregnancy is expelled; bleeding into the decidua basalisand tissue necrosis causes uterine contractions to expel the pregnancy.[48] Early miscarriages can be due to a developmental abnormality of the placenta or other embryonic tissues. In some instances an embryo does not form but other tissues do. This has been called a "blighted ovum".[49][50][45]

Successful implantation of the zygote into the uterus is most likely 8 to 10 days after fertilization. If the zygote has not implanted by day 10, implantation becomes increasingly unlikely in subsequent days.[51]

A chemical pregnancy is a pregnancy that was detected by testing but ends in miscarriage before or around the time of the next expected period.[52]

Chromosomal abnormalities are found in more than half of embryos miscarried in the first 13 weeks. Half of embryonic miscarriages (25% of all miscarriages) have an aneuploidy (abnormal number of chromosomes).[53] Common chromosome abnormalities found in miscarriages include an autosomal trisomy (22–32%), monosomy X(5–20%), triploidy (6–8%), tetraploidy (2–4%), or other structural chromosomal abnormalities (2%).[48] Genetic problems are more likely to occur with older parents; this may account for the higher rates observed in older women.[54]

Luteal phase progesterone deficiency may or may not be a contributing factor to miscarriage.[5

I suspect you weren't serious when you wrote this response. How stupid do you assume women to be? Is that why you're here trying to mansplain to the rest of us? I get that you feel that abortive remedies are needed. Don't things like the morning after pill exist? Don't prophylactics already exist? Under the new law, life of the mother, and abnormality are addressed, are they not? So whom do you suppose you're protecting here?

Is there ANY and I mean ANY research supporting the claim that heroin (as opposed to heroine) addiction causes miscarriage?

And what is the success rate of the morning after pill?
For that matter what is the success rate of condoms?
And accusing other posters of “mansplaining” when you just posted claiming women would know it they were miscarrying.........well

    Yes.

Can heroin cause problems in pregnancy?
Yes. Using heroin during pregnancy can be dangerous, even deadly. It may cause serious problems, including:

    • Birth defects. These are health conditions that are present at birth. Birth defects change the shape or function of one or more parts of the body. They can cause problems in overall health, how the body develops, or in how the body works.
    • Placental abruption. This is a serious condition in which the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus before birth. The placenta supplies the baby with food and oxygen through the umbilical cord. Placental abruption can cause very heavy bleeding and can be deadly for both mother and baby.
    • Premature birth. This is birth that happens too early, before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
    • Low birthweight. This is when a baby is born weighing less than 5 pounds, 8 ounces.
    • Neonatal abstinence syndrome (also called NAS). NAS happens when a baby is exposed to a drug in the womb before birth and then goes through withdrawal after birth.
    • Stillbirth. This is when a baby dies in the womb before birth, but after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Sudden infant death syndrome (also SIDS). This is the unexplained death of a baby younger than 1 year old.
If you’re pregnant and using heroin, don’t stop taking it without getting treatment from your health care provider first. Quitting suddenly (sometimes called cold turkey) can cause severe problems for your baby, including death. Your health care provider or a drug-treatment center can treat you with drugs like methadone or buprenorphine. These drugs can help you gradually reduce your dependence on heroin in a way that’s safe for your baby.

Drug dependency is a horrible thing to subject a future person to. Is this what you and others are purposefully trying to encourage here?

Good reason for a heroin addict to get an abortion.

Hmm. so what are you suggesting here? women don't know they were miscarrying? that does seem pretty pejorative of you to suggest as much.

"AROUND five OR six weeks"...gee, how NOT precise....who determines if the embryo had a heartbeat?

    AND

WHY is there an exception for rape ?

Why? Because only women who had consensual sex should be punished....and that can be the ONLY reason for that exception..

I was going to come back with "lear to spell", but this works just as well....

This thread has lost my heartbeat... these laws will never be allowed to be implemented, so the rest is just wishful thinking...

Vast difference in the raw numbers. Abortions kill millions of children per year. Guns used in crimes account for far less.
I enjoy our rights stated in the Constitution. The taking of a babies life is not located in the constitution.

Nobody tops the Democrats for plastering this nation with tons of new laws. Not even close. In this case, Idaho acted to save lives, not kill humans.
