He can't change the text of the law, which contains specific start dates. More specifically the mandate with the penalty fees. Obama has arbitrarily and without authority changed date written specifically into the Law. He can only change those dates with an amendment to the law passed by Congress and signed by him.

Please link to ones that had their specific start dates changed.

like I said most occur because of lack of funding, but they do happen, why do you think republican in congress was trying so hard to cut funding of the law? because they want to force the President to postpone the rollout of the law

funny how republicans seem to be for the delay until Obama was also for the delay - lol

The lack of funding is the Democrats own fault...........it was underfunded from the beginning, expecting to keep their majority in the 2010 mid-term so they could fully fund it later. But, the American people were smarter than that and tossed a historic 63 Democrats out of the House in that election. They passed it as a Reconciliation bill (50% simple majority needed) cutting costs for the Government because they couldn't get 60% votes to pass it the majority way. The bill should have never been passed in the first place. Not a single Republican voted for the Bill and the mess is all on the Democrats.

Don't blame Republicans for not cooperating, the people don't want them to cooperate. Providing additional funding to support the Obama Care mess would be a great disservice to the American taxpayer. Jolly won in a swing district in Florida that voted for Obama twice, running on a "repeal and replace" Obama Care platform. That my dear will play out all over the country this coming November. The voters will sentence Democrats to walk in the political wilderness for a generation after this mess.

Do you plan on addressing my previous post or not?

so start over, republicans control the senate, republicans said creating a new health care bill should take years, get started today and in a few years when you think your ready to replace, give it a go

    - - - Updated - - -

--- start of reply to 2nd post ---

it's within their power to do so, chances are they could never agree enough to do so, that is not the presidents problem, that is a problem with congress

I would love to see a health care bill pass that isn't pass by lies. This one was passed only by lies and more lies
Obama thinks the people are stupid and he may be right. Or people just want free stuff and honesty doesn't matter any longer as long as the church of government is giving away more free stuff. Because we owe y'all whatever y'all want.

Repeal it and put things back the way they were for now, the majority of people would support that.

Interesting. Where were these Republicans when President Bush was using his infamous "signing statements" to change the intent of laws passed by Congress?

nope, then nothing will get done, create a better plan and replace it or fix what we have now and move forwards, were not going backwards

all we really need to do to fix the current plan is replace the individual mandate with a public option, the majority of people would support that.

75% of the people signing up for Obama Care lost their health care they liked because of it. 2014 is going to make the midterm rout in 2010 look small. Good luck with that. Sink was the litmus test, she out spent Jolly 3 to 1 on television ads and still lost.

That's not what constitutional lawyers such as Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz are saying.

Where in the law does Congress hand Obama the authority to arbitrarily alter its provisions - most particularly the effective dates? Since you're so sure Obama has this authority you'll have no problem substantiating that claim with the section number and a link.

until the courts say Presidents can no longer do what they been doing all along, then I say they have a right to do it

I see you can't substantiate your claim. Surprise, surprise.

You can say anything you want, bit that doesn't give Obama the right or authority to do anything he wants.

He might sign them, but he's doing (*)(*)(*)(*) poor job of enforcing them.

So Obama will continue to break the law until somebody stops him? Our president is, in effect, acting like a Mafia boss.
Is this the ethical new sort of politician we were swindled into electing? You must be so proud.

At least he seems to understand how laws are made, which this legislator seems not to have learned yet.

We are governed by knaves and fools, and we elected them ourselves.

    - - - Updated - - -

If large organizations didn't buy influence and get satisfaction for their money, government as we know it would be lost beyond recognition.
