I believe the Second Amendment was put in place specifically to help keep government in check. At the time of its writing the U.S. had just fought a war for independence against a oppressive government.
Gun control does not lead to a crime free anything. Too many criminals roam the streets and are released time after time to roam free.
No one in this society is up for a conversation, that's what all the blame is for; to escape any and all responsibility.
That's kinda like all the folks blathering on about abortion who don't really get after it isn't it. Blah, blah, blah, and the masses swallow and follow.
Yup, no one cares until it pops off, then we all sling blame, thoughts and prayers. We'll do it again in a week or two given this year's trend line, see ya then.
Not necessarily but as I have mentioned before it is a slippery slope. Look back at the gun control over the last one hundred years or so. We just keep adding to it. I do realize that as society changes and the population increases we may need to rethink many things but where do we stop?
